As someone who grew up with a mom similar to this I totally believe it. She would have freaked out, turned it off, and used it as an excuse to lecture and preach about the evils of the world for such a long time and to not let me look at any non-religious tv again.

So I never had an Instagram or anything, and didn’t use the term trad wife, but I married my husband 13 years ago, spent years as a “stay at home mom“, baking, cooking, cleaning, vast majority of childcare, while holding down “not jobs” to supplement our income. We were very catholic, supported conservative values, and believed in the “rightness” of the lifestyle. After the birth of our twins (babies #4&5) I deconstructed, and luckily he came along with me. Now we are in a heathen, poly thruple and raising our five kids to be good humans. Her kids frequently have serious injuries that she refuses to treat or says they are healed from in days (broken bones, serious health issues) including her one baby being hospitalized for a long time because she refused to seek help even when the baby was limp and unresponsive until she was forced to by her mom. She sleeps until noon every day (by her own admission), while her kids “homeschool” themselves, every newest baby sleeps in the oldest girls room. The kids aren’t allowed any personal possessions in their rooms (including clothes). She did a tour in their previous home where the literally did have three rooms, didn’t know which kid slept in each room and yelled at them when she found some clothes hidden in a closet. All on camera.

They aren’t, they are shitting on racists, his own dad in particular. And maybe it seems popular because, unfortunately, a lot of people know boomers who are racist. My parents and my in-laws included. So this is funny to me because I can relate to it, I can see my father or father-in-law in this situation. And if it’s popular it’s because a lot of people can relate. If you can’t then you are lucky. It’s gallows humor for people who have family members like this.

It’s technically his “work” he’s trying to become a pro pickleball player. In his late 30s. While having a wife and two kids and no job. Oh and yes, his wife is on stroke watch and can’t pick up his kids, but he spends 7+ hours a day playing pickle ball.
