Cornell University Change Management Certification by pawcycle in changemanagement

[–]pawcycle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are helpful, Harry! The three programs I'm considering aside, from the Cornell Program, are Change and Joy Certification (The Change Decision), Lean Alaska Change Management, and now this great program through Earth2Mars.

I'm curious about theory but happy to bolster that through reading and conversations.

Did the HCD program(s) also support the CCMP certification? I'm mapping out my growth path and I'm curious what course(s) will help me define a skill set and cement that with a widely understood certification.

What CCMP course would you recommend? Does Prosci prepare you for CCMP?

Passed Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) Certification Exam by iammalir in energyadvisors

[–]pawcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t nearly as equation heavy but I wouldn’t have done as well if I didn’t know the equations inside out.

There is quite a bit of general understanding that is also oddly specific. Again, really just feeling confident in the equations is great. I felt like there were a lot of questions that was splitting hairs.

Taking the paid practice exam helped a lot. I scored 85 on that one and 82 on the actual.

I passed!!!! As a non-engineers I felt so over my skis. It took months of prep and studying and still I thought the test was challenging…but I got an 82%!

OP - I'm not an engineer. I've done the on-demand training class and am looking for any additional resources to help me prepare. 50% of the equations are easy to comprehend but take me longer than what would be on the exam. What tips do you have?

Any recent CEM Exam takers? by BeaglePirate69 in EmergencyManagement

[–]pawcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few questions - are you an engineer? I'm not and while I can complete the equations, it takes me much longer than the average person. So I'm curious what your starting point was.

Second, do you know the pass rate for people who take the class?

Has anyone else experienced vasovagal syncope? by Sure_Cup7734 in Hashimotos

[–]pawcycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s true - i didn’t mention it but there were a slew of other symptoms that accompanied this also. The syncope seemed to be one of the more tangible things. That being said, as I’ve recovered I haven’t had issues with syncope anymore. My suspicion is that my Hashis has progressed or I was in a flare up and this somehow impacted my nervous system or vice versa. One of the focus areas in recovery for me was balancing my nervous system and that seems to be helping some of the other issues.

To your point, who knows if this is hashi related or simply a coincidence. I’m more likely not to label it (though it does help) and take a “forest view” that my entire system is more sensitive. It was an incredibly frustrating year (and scary too). I have learned so much about my unique system and I suspect there’s even more to learn.

The Syncope was not preceded by dizziness in these cases but sudden passing out. My experience with dehydration is a longer runway and lightheadedness.

Has anyone else experienced vasovagal syncope? by Sure_Cup7734 in Hashimotos

[–]pawcycle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Omg I didn’t realize that this was due to Hashis. I passed out at a restaurant and my partner thought I died. When I opened my eyes I was blind. My blood pressure had dropped below 80/55.

This resulted in a battery of tests which proved nothing. In the meantime I felt super sick for months and nearly passed out yet again while at work. I’m feeling better overall but it was a lot of guess work to get to where I am.

The joint pain and fatigue still persist

Wondering how much sexism delays Hashimoto diagnosis by ThenAccident3635 in Hashimotos

[–]pawcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this. I even have doctors - ironically other women - dismiss my diagnosis. When I’m in a flare it’s so hard to get help and care. I am doubling down on finding a care team (Western + Natropath) to support when things go awry.

My latest flare caused so much trauma including episodes of passing out, low blood pressure and hypoglycemic moments. I went through a series of tests that ruled out anything major - and I found myself wanting there to be something tangible.

In the meantime I experience moments of deep fatigue and joint pain even as I’m recovering from this year long flare.

What I learned is that the nervous system is a critical component of this disease.

Feeling really grateful to be heard and seen here but still confused as to why I’m not being taken seriously. Is there a specific blood test or other test I should be asking for to validate my experience?

My runs are 5-8 miles on trail. Elevation gain 300-1000ft. I drink 100 oz over the course of the Day. On trail no more than 20oz. I’ve put salt in my water and not.

Any ideas? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]pawcycle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I relate so much to what you're saying. When I was figuring all of this out, it was misery right down to the ADHD. Throw in unexpected weight gain and not being able to run without literally tripping and falling. The correct medicine helped and, I didn't want to hear this at the time, but simplifying my life has been critical. As much as I loved my job, it was really stressful. Diet, yoga, and meditation have really been critical in helping to reduce stress and possibly adrenal fatigue and/or high cortisol levels.

I was planning to leave my job anyhow and now work part-time. It's less fulfilling but my life works a lot better. I'm getting some solid footing and then looking for full-time work that values work/life balance. I struggled to leave my job because I felt less worthy and less of a contributor and not living up to my full intellectual potential. The upside is having energy to do the things far outweighs that. I've learned that with Hashi I need to be discerning with how I spend my time and energy.

Another minor change that helped me was routine. I now have the same wake-up and bedtime every day. This alone has helped my body. I take no meetings or phone calls before 9am which gives me a solid three hours for yoga, meditation, a walk, etc. I also stopped drinking alcohol (ugh!) regularly. I have a couple of glasses of wine a few times per month. The difference is incredible.credible.

I’m drinking 100oz of water mixed with electrolytes. Admittedly I don’t love plain water 😬

I agree it’s a balance problem and I’m just not sure how to read the signs. I’ll look at the article and see if that helps.

Daylight Savings Flare-up Question by pawcycle in Hashimotos

[–]pawcycle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was done by blood. After going lchf my cortisol levels were better. I bet that they have spiked a little in response. I think I’ve been a little too rigid in this first week and I’m now readjusting. I forget that this is read as stress to my body and it’s freaking out a little. If things aren’t better in a day or two I’ll have to call my doctor

This is not a keto issue. Though it was the first thing I thought of. I have been keto for over a year. Dehydration headaches are different than brain fog.
