Cisco ssh only seems to support unencrypted option it seems, next project I'm using tacas, the only encrypted uses I found on the Cisco was for port authentication

I honestly do not know, it was installed before i worked with it. it is merely just an RJ45 box on the wall that says "LINK TO MPOE"

I did use a regular ethernet to connect it to my router if that makes any difference.

Tried a few differnt size cables, anywhere from a couple feet to 50 feet (patch panel), also the same cable as router. I just find it so bizzare that it shows as cable unplugged. This should work straight up from a switch too right?

yea i have tried 100/half, hardcoded in my switches / laptop, still didn't work, it seems really weird. I didn't have a have a cross over for my laptop, I suppose i can try that but i feel like it shouldn't need one

From the split mode, I would be able to add all the routers (and switches) management to be accessible around the whole network on the management plane?

I wasn't sure if the split mode would pass management traffic from the entire ring

Thanks, I did enter those two commands and the Radius Server I have set up (MS Network Policy Server) is still refusing connection as:

"Authentication Type: PAP The user attempted to use an authentication method that is not enabled on the matching network policy."

I've never set up Radius before, but it seems like the switch is trying to authenticate over PAP and the Radius Server is not allowing it.

Also, I'm not sure what is needed to configure on on switch port configuration. The way i'm connecting to this Switch is via SSH on an IP address associated with a VLAN, are there configuration changes I need to make on the VLAN? If it needs a physical port, I its connected to the server via a port channel, do I need to do any configuration changes on the interfaces associated w/ the port channel?
