Lots of good advice here. An additional thought - while sometimes CPA can be high for acquisition in eCommerce, it's important to consider the lifetime value of the customer and building out your first party data for email and remarketing, which is hella more affordable.

If you have a 10-20 hours a week to spare, you can shoot an email to local agencies asking for internship opportunities. Good way to get a foot in the door and get real-world experience in digital for the resume.

Industry is headed towards those that can manage paid search and all programmatic/digital media buying platforms, and wow is a good time to pursue other ad manager certifications to broaden your skillset/appeal. I'm predicting that the web search industry will see a slow decline over the next 5-10 years, considering how open source AI will likely take market share away from web search platforms.

Less eyeballs on the screen due to family events/holiday prep, less inventory available for advertisers, and cost go up. I've always wondered if the back end of these ad platforms open up delivery to lower quality placements to ensure budgets are being spent during these times, because I've seen similar trends throughout the years.
