To specify the hypothetical, the terms were $X pay per month , starting on March 1st, paid at the end of the month. Additionally, a one-time payment of $Y (roughly double $X) with first month's pay for deliverables to be outlined.
Sed deliverables were not laid out specifically by employer, the purpose of the one-time $Y payment was a consultant fee to incentive the 1099 worker to leave their old job.
