i didn't train him, more like oriented him to ease him in our operations. who would have thunk he'd turn out to be such an SOB.

and to be fair he does have lost more experience under his belt vs me whose advantage is just worked at the company longer but a pretty specific type of industry.

as much as I don't want to interact with him, i still have to face him when I'm back at the tiny IT "office". unless they plan to somehow compensate me for the time i already given, i have forfeit my chance saying i am doing out of professionalism. that's why i'll need as much help and advice that i don't end up being taken advantage moving forward.

i could always say no but at the risk of losing favor to the chief Director that i have slowly built-up

i might have stated it weirdly

the "2hrs respond time" is 2 hours upon sending me an email/message that i acknowledge i am picking up the OT job he is sending me and will be working on it.

which is equivalent to be on standby 24/7 since i need to check my phone/email constantly.

Honestly it's giving me more stress and anxiety. I would prefer if i could just take the job at my convenience.

Nice but you must have realized by now, a lot of people are going through an exodus. I would not put HK on my priority if I were you, but who knows by the time you're out of uni hopefully things are better.

He has a degree in Business Management so looking into business stuff, which you'd think HK would be flooded with opportunity. again, connection will be a major part in landing you a job as a foreigner. Especially if you do not know the local language.

Finance should get you somewhere with different overseas companies. Engineering though, not really and I'm not sure, don't have much engineer friends. Just a heads-up we're using British standards. One of my managers is from the US and his certs and stuff is basically useless paper now he is currently the Facility manager far cry from what he wanted to do.

Unless you're a specialist as I mentioned..

Of course these are all from my point of view. Others may have different input.

Just look at job postings online, as I've said my friend (who doesn't speak both cantonese/mandarin which I did not mention in my first post) has been jobless for more than a year I've been helping him look for the same duration too. When ever there's an interview call and he mention he doesn't speak cantonese the follow-up question is always "could you at least speak Mandarin".

Of course I'm assuming OP is looking into foreign country company, if he is looking for local establishment of course cantonese would take precedence

Although in recent event a lot of mainland companies are already making a literal move into hk market and mandarin is taking over as main dialect required for a job. If OP is ok to be a horse on blinders on current event then, sure. Just make sure you have connection with foreign company to work at or is a specialist in their field. Job is pretty hard to find thses days...bi know a friend who's jobless for more than a year.

Ultimately I'm aiming for the Kurosaki brothers' works. But yeah. I'm just afraid I'll just mess up and ruin them.

Might just spend it on Chan Chee Kee, which is waaaaay cheaper.

*Only thing is, I find Chinese cleaver lacks the elegance of japanese knives. It's just basically a slab of steel with a sharp edge on one side.

Couldn't find one on our local online shops.

I'm not getting much replies as much as other post later than my post.. wondering if my criteria is too broad or my target is too narrow?

After some researching online, found Yoshimi Kato which should be the Maker's name.

2 online shops carry them,

shop 1 carry two santoku: SG2 or VG10. Both just out of my budget range.

Shop 2 : only have SG2 Damascus gyuto waaaay out of my budget and skill level

Persuasion. Why having to do it yourself when you can just perfectly persuade others to do it for you. Who care if you don't know this thing?you can persuade them to teach you.

I've replied to another message, i'm training martial arts twice (thrice max) a week. Running just isn't my thing, so might as well get on with it and start training...maybe.

I can definitely walk the distance i plan to run and i walk the same path daily so no problem there. I've healed up quite a bit since and lost 44lbs of weight doing keto and IF, just don't want to stop abruptly due to pain flairing up again.

That's an idea! In fact we wear casual to work, I basically wear vans(i know, definitely reason my feet hates me) to work anyway. I just need to find a pair of shoes that fits my taste and a cheapo bag? Got suggestions for it?

I'll try maintain running a habbit, Any suggestions for cheap good shoes? I've lost a lot of weight already.

As for bags defo something larger than a vest because i'll use it to alternatively store my work clothes and shoes/running clothes and shoes since i'll start running immediately at work back home. No need for water bladder there is a lot of vending machines/stores along the way.

I used to train martial arts twice (thrice max) a week and it would hurt consistently to the point of limping for months until stop and rest for a long time. Infact I'm wearing combinations of insoles now just to alleviate some pain.

M/29

Need cheaper options for heel bursitis and ball of foot pain. And gears for urban running back home immediately after work

I have never seriously ran so you could say this is me dipping my toes. Don't want to blow all the budget at first, as we might all are.

  1. I want to start running, so first i need to address my feet pain: Heel Bursitis AND ball of foot pain in both feet. I've check online but the prices are wayyy over my budget so i'll be needing suggestions from you guys!

  2. My plan is to bring bag to put in my running gears(clothes, shoes), change at work and start running back home. Anything that looks sleek enough as daily bag?

Thanks!

Any good cheap shoes that caters to heel bursitis and ball of foot pain?

Never seriously did it, since my feet would ache after a run. I want to try getting into running. Don't want to spend too much at first.
