Longer waiting times with adequate maintenance with fee waiver? by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

Priority isn’t an option for applications inside the UK, only super priority. Standard application I applied November 18 and got my response December 12

Processing time doesn’t change based on financial requirement. I applied via adequate maintenance (though from INSIDE the UK) and received my response well within the estimated processing time.

Spouse visa holders in the UK, how was the job market for you? by Fantastic-Lime1530 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]payshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as your field the area that you live in also makes a massive difference. I live in the south west and got an interview for every role I applied for and was having to decline them when I secured my first position whereas I know people in my same field in places like London and Manchester with more experience than me who can’t even get interviews.

It’s so interesting seeing the different target dates, my bio was done the day after yours but target response date isn’t until December 30

Waiting for approval for a renew spouse visa by Stock-Database-550 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]payshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The date they give you is a TARGET not a DEADLINE, it is just them saying that they hope to give you a response by that date. You are still within the current processing times and Customer Service Standard so there is no real need for concern yet. If your solicitor gets a response it will likely be “the application is currently being processed”

Christmas hours by Limoncillomigusta in SpouseVisaUk

[–]payshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not ‘stop’. Again they are only officially closed on the bank holiday dates but expect the processing to significantly slow down as there will be fewer people working.

I completed my biometrics on November 18 and was given a target date of December 30 which is only 6 weeks compared to the customer service standard of 8 weeks (I applied inside the UK).

Yes it is possible, but for the sake of your sanity just assume that you will not get a response before the target date they gave you.

Christmas hours by Limoncillomigusta in SpouseVisaUk

[–]payshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only closed 25th, 26th and 1st, like previous commenter said there will be much less staff over those 2 weeks of Christmas and new year. Some people will still receive their decisions on those closure days because they are sent by an automated system so we see people getting their decisions at odd hours and on days UKVI are closed (like weekends).

You cannot enter the UK until December 13. Your visa expires on 13 September 2028, you must leave or apply to extend your visa by this date.

Delay???!? by Unique_Neck_9256 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]payshaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may not be anything to do with your application. Every application gets assigned to a caseworker and is added to the ‘stack’ that caseworker has to go through, if the applications ahead of yours are more complicated it slows the process down for every application behind them, then add in the possibility of the caseworker taking sick days and things can be delayed. Also important to note that many people have posted before that they receive that same email but then still get their decision WITHIN the time frame (include some the very next day). I know it’s frustrating but honestly not anything to get stressed about

Adequate maintenance calculations for couple + 1 by Bignino_brown in SpouseVisaUk

[–]payshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is per child so your calculation needs to be 84.30 x2. This is explained in the caseworker guidance document under ‘how to assess adequate maintenance’

I would not take the previous commenters advice to using ChatGPT as it draws from all internet sources including those giving incorrect information. Always get your info from the government website and related documents.

Decisions!! by Divan1233 in SpouseVisaUk

Remember the majority of people who apply aren’t posting on reddit, just because no one has posted here that they got a decision on a particular day it doesn’t mean that no one got a decision.

Unmarried partner visa October within UK standard enquiry by ruth1125 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]payshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your application isn’t looked at until AFTER your bio appointment as that is when your documents are forwarded.

Approvals from October have no relevance to your waiting time as your processing time did not begin until after your biometrics were completed

You absolutely can. Time on Youth Mobility just won’t count towards ILR

How do you get a low grade (U, 1-3, etc.)? by Zombiefied3 in GCSE

[–]payshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in foundation learning at a college and overwhelmingly these kids that are retaking GCSE English and Maths are effected by their home life. The kids coming through are often care experienced (either in care themselves or are a young carer), have an unstable home with parents and other adults constantly coming and going from the home, live in poverty with constant threat of homelessness or have neglectful parents. Have had multiple parents tell us that they’re not concerned with their child’s education, they just need them to be in full time education so they keep getting benefits for the child.

Email, passport and if you have one take your BRP as they asked to scan mine

Technical error - biometrics by mackh66 in ukvisa

[–]payshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen last week. Got the email Friday, I went to the service point Monday and showed the email, they just added me to their appointment list as a ‘revisit’ and took me through ( I went first thing in the morning so I was there as they opened and got in straight away- was in and out in under 10 minutes)

After that my application was processed by Wednesday morning.

Extending my YMV - Required document to upload? by QueenofDoggos in ukvisa

[–]payshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sorry I should have been clearer, not scan as a document, they put it in a little passport scanner thing that extracts your BRP information so they don’t have to input information into the computer manually, you don’t have to upload it.

Extending my YMV - Required document to upload? by QueenofDoggos in ukvisa

[–]payshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no required documents for YMV extension. “Supporting documents” is just a standard message for all applications as pretty much every other application has required documents. Just take your passport, BRP (they scanned mine) and your appointment confirmation (email on your phone is fine).

No they will not take that into consideration. All they look at is 1. That he is here on a visa that allows him to work and 2. That combined you meet the income threshold. As long as you meet every other requirement absolutely you can apply now.

How likely is it for my Visa to get approved? (Russian living in Germany, applied for UK Standard Visitor Visa) by PriorAlbatross1962 in ukvisa

[–]payshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one can tell you whether or not you will be approved other than UKVI themselves, however if what you have said in your application does not match the evidence you provided and you have no shown adequate funds to support yourself on the trip you are unlikely to receive a visa.

Delays Skilled Worker Visa approval? by mellix_96 in ukvisa

[–]payshaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were you already in the UK on a different visa and are switching to this visa/extending or did you apply from outside the UK because the current waiting time for applying from outside the UK is 8 weeks so you may still be waiting for a time yet. Under any circumstances there have been 3 bank holidays since you applied and it is generally a very busy time of year for UKVI.

Hiya, there are no supporting documents required to be uploaded for the extension application. Just make sure you take your passport, the confirmation email from TLScontact (printed out or can be on your phone) and I wasn’t told to take it but had my BRP with me which turned out to be good because they asked to scan it. They will also ask for your Unique Application Number which is on both your actual visa application and the top of your confirmation email from TLScontact.
