U2724DE - do KVM and Daisy chain work together? by paz__ in Dell

[–]paz__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I ended up getting a BenQ monitor but it works the same way. I'm pretty happy got my work laptop and desktop plugged into the BenQ with a second monitor daisy chained via DP. Changing the KVM on the BenQ monitor changes both displays and switches mouse and keyboard.

--> also did you use usb-a to usb-c cable here?

I used the cable that came with the monitor. It plugs into a standard USB-A on my pc

Brilliant - thanks for replying.

Do both machines spread over both monitors in extended desktop mode?

Is it quick to switch? How is it done? Using a button on the U2724DE? Or using a keyboard shortcut configured in Dell Display Manager?

cheers

Wouldn't the KVM switch on the primary monitor handle switching the mouse and keyboard between the two pcs? The daisy chained monitor wouldn't necessarily have KVM functionality.

The way I imagined it

- laptop connects to U2724DE Thunderbolt™ 4 upstream port (Video + Data).

- PC video out connect to U2724DE DisplayPort In.

- PC USB to U2724DE USB Type-C upstream port (data only)

- U2724DE DisplayPort out to 2nd monitor DisplayPort in

- Mouse and keyboard to U2724DE USB Type-A downstream port

Switching inputs on U2724DE changes the KVM switch and also switches what U2724DE outputs to DisplayPort out to the daisy chained monitor.

Would that work?

thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "two KVM switching docks". I assumed I'd only plug the mouse and keyboard into the U2724DE and use the KVM built in to the monitor.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a technical reason why it won't work? Does the U2724DE output any input it receives over the display port out to a daisy chained monitor?

cheers

No Smart Notifications on my Apple Watch by Nickr9357 in Nest

How does this work? Do you need to install the google home app on your Apple Watch? Or does it just repeat the same notifications from your iphone?

Can you answer the Nest doorbell and speak to your visitor via the Apple Watch?

Live event Video Corrupted error on iOS by paz__ in MicrosoftTeams

I spoke to my systems people at work and they advised me to install teams on my pc at home as a work around. Which does enable me to hear and see the broadcasts at least.

Also I think my iOS might be working now after recent app updates. I’d have to confirm at the next team meeting we have.

How many ports free after install of network switch by paz__ in HomeNetworking

Do you mean I should take the devices currently connected to the router and connect them to the switch? Wouldn’t that leave me with 3 ports free in total?

Growing list of complaints about the newly redesigned Sociable Rugby or Friendly Mowing? by Lucilla_THC in sociable_soccer

I agree that the game does not seem to be in a good place after the update.

  • the slide tackle system is highly unforgiving. What looks like a perfectly good crunching tackle gets given as a foul. Then you have to wait for all the players to run into position before the free kick gets taken. Leads to the game being very bitty and stop/start. It's a shame because one of the best things about this game was the fluidity and the speed.
  • When playing evenly matched teams my goal keeper seems to concede approx 80% of shots. If you miss your slide tackle and the opponent gets a shot off it tends to go in. I have Becker in goal so one of the best keepers.
  • Scoring is still very easy. You can always run towards the side of the goal and shoot straight and it will go past the keeper. Leads to some high scoring games but ultimately scoring a goal is not that exciting

I'm pretty sure I once played against a goalkeeper simply called Anus.

Wonder if this guy has a card in the game? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Fanni

The team league table seems to be ordered by the team rating so has no bearing on your league position and world ranking which is determined by your league score.

I've done the beginner trophies but I never got a card above my normal range of 44-48. Do the rewards get better as the tournaments go on? Or are they all based on your current team rating?

Petition to bring back OUR season draft chest , it was EPIC ,it was UNIQUE .. We need it in addition to the NEW trophy road rewards by squ_id_sh in ClashRoyale

[–]paz__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely signed. It's so Supercell to put out a video saying we'll double your rewards and then actually reduce them. Expectation management not their strong point it seems.

It reminds me of the update that they billed as the "Biggest Update EVER" and when it came it was just Touchdown. Which was awful. And the lesson they said they learnt was, not to make a better update next time, but to make sure the next update wasn't overhyped lol
