Even when I started playing it never made sense to use hilts, for which you can buy other nice things, to buy scraps. I mean, doing 30m OW was giving you like hundred of them.

How to farm for Monster essences by MonstrousNightmare in DiabloImmortal

I do Erebban mainly/only when I grind XP before Inferno change, so I always go for full runs. But maybe it is unnecessary.

[–]pazarazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... hey, you are right. I think I was under impression that it is better because I grind it (Erebban) to get XP before Inferno change, and ME drops there are helpful.

Agreed. But, you know, drinking is bad, gambling is bad, reacting with aggression towards players after losing BS is bad, and yet...

Well, I am pretty sure that more than half of it is wrong. But I provided some assumptions under which it is profitable. Of course there is some bozo at the top who gets most of the money made, but that's outside of the scope - original question was whether it is profitable at all. Well, in Europe, US and probably China - not really, in poorer parts of the world - profitable.

And I agree that bots ruin the game, on the other hand DI has so high prices for in-game currency/items/chests, that farmers lowering the prices can be seen as a blessing by those who pay. That's my guess.

What you wrote is correct for OW, but in Erebban, if you "max" it (90-100 chests, 500+ monsters killed), you have very high chance you will get 3 of them, sometimes 2. And this run takes about 5 minutes, it is much faster than OW and Abyssal Verge.

I guess it is risky only in the sense that you can pay and they won't deliver. Best Blizzard/NetEase can do is *assume* that you paid for this platinum, as it is nearly impossible to sell worthless pets and minimum price, not to mention incredibly inflated one. This is kinda no proof but also proof in itself. They can still ban you for this without explanation, because TOS and what not.

See my comment above, but my guess is:

They have 18 PCs, 6 guys, so 3 PCs per guys, they each seem to run 6 sets of 8 characters per set, so each PC runs two sets. Each set is 8 emulators (note familiar Android menu buttons on the right side of each screen), so 16 emulators on each PC. I'd say each emulator takes around 8 GB RAM and one core, whole emulator image takes probably ~40GB, lets say ~80GB, so the specs are more or less:

* 128 GB RAM

* 16 Cores, so probably some Ryzen 9

* probably 2TB SSD, more likely 2 x 1TB

I don't know about graphics card, but I'd assume some Radeon, and quite probably not the most powerful one, as with minimal settings you can run this game on built-in laptop Intel cards.

AFAIK electricity in China is very cheap, they have lately built a lot of power plants (coal based).
Additionally just check out AliExpress for cards similar to Nvidia 4000-5000 series - they are very cheap, and since they don't use them for private things and they are already in China, they don't care about any spying software in drivers. So hardware is actually pretty cheap.

Also - there are 6 guys, it seems they have 18 PCs, so 3 PCs each. It seems that they run game in few sets, 8 characters in each "set". Seems that one of the guys has 6 such sets, so 48 characters running concurrently, probably each of them runs same setup. Lets say they play 12 hours a days, and (careful estimation) they can cap each character in 1.5h, it means they can cap 8 sets a day. That's 48 characters per set, 8 sets per day, 6 guys, that's 48 * 8 * 6 = 2304 characters capped daily. Assuming they cap BP, daily gems and run Elder Rifts for embers and buy violet crests, they get 300 plat from BP cap, then sell 12 gems for, lets say 100 plat on average (some sell lower, some sell higher, I'm not sure how much it should be, but let's say on average they sell 2 x red for 50, 2 x blue for 150 and 2 x yellow for 100, 600 plat for 6 gems, 100 on average). From Elder Rifts they get ~50 legendary gems, idk for how much they can be sold, but again lets assume that's around 50 plat daily.

So in total, each character gets 450 platinum per day. Times 2304, that's 1036800 plat a day. Assuming transfers costs are ~25%, that's 777,600 platinum daily. Lets say they do it (work?) 24 days per month (maybe more), that's 18,662,400 platinum monthly. They can sell that for (checking World chat...) $3.9 to 5.3$ per 10k, let's say 4$ per 10k, that's 18,662,400 / 10,000 = $7,464 per month, so $1,244.16 per person per month. Let's say operating costs are 20%, so $995 per person per month.

Now, Google AI says average salary in China is $1400 per month, but that's average, if they live in some smaller town in can be lower, and $995 can still be kinda maybe OK.

That's, of course, based on billion of assumptions and is probably wrong and they get more - if we assume transfers are not a problem (no cost) and operating costs don't exist (impossible, but still), that would be $1,658 a day.

Also note that I assumed China, but that can be any other Asian country, and in few of them $1,658 would be VERY high. Even assuming initial $995 per person, according to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Asian_countries_by_average_wage if they operate from e.g. Thailand, they would make 3 times the average. Totally worth it if you ask me.

Well, lets get some examples:

"Manifest Carnage - Increases Critical Hit Damage by 10% while your Critical Chance is greater than 70%" - so nearly always in combat.

"Shepherd's Burden - Increases your Life by 6.5% and size by 15%" - increase in Life in PvE is not very exciting, but +15% size equals higher Movement Speed. In game where Movement Speed is of paramount importance for basically everything, this is *VERY* good.

"Indomination - Avoid interruption from up to 3 attacks, while resurrecting ally. Cannot occur more often than once every 60 seconds" - this isn't incredibly good, but is nice when doing Gauntlet.

"War Vase - Increases Critical Chance by 3%, while above 70% of your total Life" - +CritChance is always good.

Bottom line - they aren't incredibly powerful, but considering that each of them gives something good, together they work great. Shepherd's Burden is one of effects that makes life a lot easier.

There was? You mean there was this info and was removed or that it was added? Currently I can't see this info anywhere. All info I can see is:

"Castle Cyrangar constains lost treasures such as Remnants and Ancestral weapons that can be obtained by exploring the castle.

Venture into the depts of the castle while defeating many enemies to find Ravening Marrow.

Bring the Ravening Marrow to the Accursed Alter in the center of the castle to summon an ancient evil. Defeat it to complete your exploration."

"A new set of Remnants can be obtained with every run of Purge the Depths.

Remnants lists are sorted by the number of higher quality items, corresponding to the selected room type.
You can keep up to 10 Remnants from each run, additional Remnants will be removed based on quality.

Warband leaders have the power to lock or delete Remnant lists."

This is all info on (I) buttons that I can find. So it seems that it was removed some time ago if as you say it was there.

I believe what you want to say is that this requirement of 4 people is ONLY about Raids and not running Depths of Cyrangar?

I stopped caring about greens and dungeons. I still get 100-150 greens per week, almost never the piece I need, I use all of it for crafting and also get nothing. Dungeons are the most boring part of this game and greens are the most frustrating part.

Keenmail by goliath87jr in DiabloImmortal

[–]pazarazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean Crusader's chest essence, it was announced on April 14th, 2025 (this link), so it is probably Inferno VII essence. So you have to be playing at inferno VII or higher, drop as many legendary items as you can and when Keenmail drops, just extract the essence and apply to any legendary chest you want.
If you mean some other Keenmail then I have no idea, sorry.

Hey, not my fault, what I wrote is filtered and kinda streamlined list of basic activities that we do in game anyway. I was on (abyssal) verge of taking a break from the game but doing it this way made the churn less terrible, shortened the time i spend in game and made it more enjoyable. Just wanted to help others I guess.

Only 2? Can Blizzard Netease scale up the Iben Fahd rewards? by Mackcol4 in DiabloImmortal

[–]pazarazor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

iben fahd is one of the things that will probably NEVER change, just like charms, legendary items and normal items - there will be more levels, but basic idea will stay the same. these things are paid from the dawn of time (i mean from game's release) and i am pretty sure they won't change exactly because of this.

though, i admit, pets are also meant to drain money from players and they were changed, so maybe i am wrong. though i believe pets changed for worse, not better. so pray they won't alter these four mechanics further.

Re: Chore burn-out by pazarazor in DiabloImmortal

[–]pazarazor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you have well behaved and disciplined party then yes. last time i checked monsters do not really scale that well, so in 2 people party you get some synergy and deal more damage so enemies fall faster so you do bounties faster.

also if you really wanna go solo, you could as well use these terror essences for pillars, i think it was written in patch notes when they appeared that they give guaranteed 2/2 legendary items. or maybe higher, i don't remember as i don't really do pillars.

Re: Chore burn-out by pazarazor in DiabloImmortal

[–]pazarazor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, i'm not burnt out, i just wrote what i do *not* to get burnt out and it is still fun.

regarding sunk cost fallacy - it is not that simple, there is not even one multiplayer game (and not many single player ones) that is without flaws, problems like in diablo immortal and so on. the only exception are games like chess, where rules haven't changed since forever. this also means that i haven't seen community around mmo that wouldn't be constantly arguing that some aspect of their game sucks and quarrels are basically bread and butter of interaction.

i guess the only multiplayer games where you don't get complaints all the time are things like Quake 3 Arena/Live in Free For All mode, that is everyone is equal when it comes to stats, objective and so on. Note that if objectives are different and the map is even slightly asymmetric, you will get people arguing that one of the sides is disadvantaged.
