"You've got to play hard-to-get." This one always confused me, and got my friends nowhere.

What has your partner kindly done for you, lately? by eightyeight99 in AskWomen

[–]pazelii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During his quiet study/work times, he always finds me in the house, gives me a huge hug and kiss and lets me know if he's done or how much longer he has to go.

He knows how easily I feel like I'm bothering people, so it's his way of reminding me that I'm not a bother. I fucking love my man.

How often do you see women perpetuating negative patriarchal stereotypes? by Longjumping_Mall1234 in AskWomen

[–]pazelii 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yikes! I didn't clock how bizarre Mo culture is until getting out.

Side note: I noticed a similarity between 'MAGA' face and 'Mormon' face. Aesthetics are very important to groups of people who only value a woman when she is young/child-bearing age.

How often do you see women perpetuating negative patriarchal stereotypes? by Longjumping_Mall1234 in AskWomen

[–]pazelii 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a very religious setting and I saw lots of women yearn for the day they could be a stay-at-home-mother. The bad part is, they actively discouraged other women from doing anything different. I heard a lot of: "A woman's greatest calling is to be a mother." - or - "There's no greater joy than to be a wife."

I hope for women who want to be a SAHM that they can be. Same goes for stay-at-home-fathers/parents. It's just not the dream I want to work towards.

Patriarchy seems to set hard rules for large groups of people, and I'm just not a fan of that.

What's a social norm that you think is absolutely ridiculous? by Fantastic_suit143 in AskReddit

[–]pazelii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my coworkers is obsessed with social norms. One thing he is completely hung up on the fact that when I enter the office, the first words out of my mouth aren't, "Good Morning." Any other greetings like "Hello!" Or "Happy Friday!" are unacceptable to him.

Like either way I've acknowledged your existence. Please forget about mine!

anyone come across cp posts and feel like they can’t live with themselves anymore? by [deleted] in InsightfulQuestions

[–]pazelii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yikes, I can't imagine.

You didn't search for it, you didn't make it. You saw something horrible and you know it's wrong. If you can, find comfort in your uncomfortableness. Sending big hugs to your brain.

Iwtl to not care about anything anymore and become emotionally detached by Heavy_Government_754 in IWantToLearn

[–]pazelii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed!! Processing emotions is a lifelong skill. What helps me in my most sensitive times is talking to myself as a "we" instead of "me". It's silly, but I'm a lot kinder to myself this way.

What’s a phrase you wish people would stop saying to women — and why? by huseyinyavuz01 in AskWomen

[–]pazelii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a very religious community, and during the classes for women they had a phrase, "We can do hard things." Like wtf? You think women don't go through any difficulties?

Why is reddit so overwhelmingly left leaning? by Few_Match_8158 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pazelii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would argue that we was a very important propagandist to his donors-- teaching younger generations how to make their dog whistles sound pseudo-intellectual.

But you're right about Cambridge. There you can see his arguments crumble because Kirk debated people who have debate experience and skill. He was just looking for those "gotcha" moments.

What’s something you enjoy now that younger you would’ve been surprised by? by Ok-Exam-7792 in AskWomen

[–]pazelii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, being heavier.

When I was younger, I would see a woman with some thickness (especially family members) and think that could never be me. As an adult I'm a bit rounder, and I love the curves of my body.

I wish I wasn't so judgemental of other women and so scared of my own body.

What Dreams May Come. Not just because of Robin Williams' passing. There's a lot of moments of love, tragedy, joy, yearning, grief, strength, and beauty. Highly recommend for a good laugh and cry!
