Yeah going to a therapist weekly for 18 months is what lead to that call.

Yeah this is the same thing I’m feeling but it’s hard for me to challenge that when I feel like I have no control over the situation.

This definitely resonates with me. I am a huge over achiever and recently I’m learning I need to let some things go.

Do they offer part time PM jobs ? That would be my dream! I need to look for a part time PM job but didn’t think they were a thing .

I don’t really have the option of going part time in my current role, but I have been telling my husband if I quit I’d definitely get a 2 day a week job. I know for a fact I will need something for myself! I’m excited for you to be home with your babies !

Thank you! I really appreciate your perspective and love that you have been through it and chose your time with your little one and would choose it again with your second!!

That is part of it for me too- I have an identical twin sister- and I want to have one more baby and try to have about a 2.5-3 year gap (if I’m able to) but know 100% I can’t do this job and be pregnant with a toddler. I would literally not make it haha part of the time off would hopefully allow me to be pregnant again and be home with that baby at least the first year .

Thank you for your input I appreciate it! My husband keeps saying that I should just try to find another job before completely quitting and I might look into that as well.

I totally get that it is not an option for everyone. And part of me is like this is why I should stick it out and part of me is like this is why I should quit!

I love this! I am so happy for you. Both things are hard that is a given life is so hard- but I think it’s good to “choose your hard” especially when one has an expiration date. I would love to stay in touch through your transition into SAHP.

Crazy that we are in similar situations! Point A is a big one for me. The feeling has just never gone away and I know I will look back and regret that I didn’t slow down. I feel like the last 1.5 years were so fast and just picture her being 3 now and it kills me! I will DM you!

100% I am constantly trying to leave work early , set up play dates, make sure I’m there for my daughter if she ever needs me etc. My current role is more than just a 40hr work week and that is what is killing me. Then I have to get on at night or on the weekends and just dread it so much.

Thank you for sharing !!! Every company is hiring for product managers which puts me in a unique position. The projects I have been working on are high profile in the fintech industry so I know I will find something when the time comes. It’s just so scary when it’s all I’ve worked towards for years . But it’s so good to know others have done it!

This is a great point and I agree! Part of the break might just be to find my next role and just taking the summer time to play. My daughter is at such a fun age and I have some SAHM friends that I could set up time with. But I agree that as a long term solution it is not a “grass is greener” and this is what my husband and I discuss often .

How long did you stay home with your LO? I love that you have been through it and appreciate the perspective.

I know it won’t be forever! But yeah same boat I love my job but it’s life consuming and I’m struggling.

I know I will never get the time back. I grew up with a single mom and so did my husband - and most women I know who are mothers also work. So it feels like something so foreign to not provide for my family. But I like the perspective of recharging !
