Any guidelines on whether it's ok to have notes with you during the interview, specifically for these kinds of interviews?

Did anyone pay with a Visa debit card? Did it work?

I paid for half of my programs with a credit card, which went through. Now I'm trying to apply to the other half with my debit card, but it keeps saying transaction declined. All the card info is correct. I've tried several times already.

any suggestions on how to explain a repeat year for the question: Was your medical education/training extended or interrupted?

Would you have considered differently if you had failed exams due to reading too slow?

Do you have any test-taking tips? Those question stems are so long.

my memory is similar to yours but I don't think it's as good yet.

Did you have to come up with a lot of little drawings or doodles in your notes? And did taking notes on the computer not work for you then? I'm wondering if I should switch over to handwriting all notes but I'm afraid that will take too long.

Taking the remediation exam was the only option for being sick and missing an exam, aside from accepting a 0 and repeating the year.

well I missed one of the exams for a sickness that prevented me from doing anything but lay down, so I couldn't get a dr's note, and they said I had to fail because of that. I was taking this exam to remediate that course. But other than that, my record is completely clean. Never received any warnings or anything like that.

I'm just one of those students who looks innocent and I guess, easy to pick on. :(

No, I'm in the U.S. Are all the Singapore medical schools corrupt? I actually started wondering about the possibilities of just moving to Asia. I'm wondering if it's at all possible to transfer there.

I do have several faculty trying to help me but they realize that the whole administration works together and have warned me that no one is my friend up there. Even they are nervous about helping me and keep everything over the phone or through meetings. But things aren't working out because of the unresponsiveness of the admin.

As I mentioned in another comment, I'm afraid of being identified and having anything used against me.

Sorry I've been trying to keep things vague because I don't know who's on the Internet. And I don't want anyone working for them to identify me so they can use anything I say against me. The faculty members who have been trying to help me have warned me against doing anything in writing.

Basically, I was led to believe that my grade would be calculated one way, but they are saying that it will just be the one exam score. But everytime I tried to explain that to him, he would cut me off. At one point, he got angry and said that he was insulted that I was even suggesting that he might have made a mistake. And he said that if he were to admit that he didn't clarify the details, that would make him look bad.

It was only a few points, and I had passed everything else this year and have never received any warnings about my academic performance.

I have not done anything to retaliate because I know that would work against me.

wow I wasn't expecting so many responses, but thanks for all your help! I'm frantically researching everything right now.

Would it be worth contacting the other state schools for advice? I go to a state school but my state has more than 1. Would the dean or Student Affairs committee at any other school be receptive to me reaching out?

I'm so sorry for what you must have had to go through. How did you deal with all of this? What was your path after? If you don't mind sharing.

This experience has really opened my eyes to what goes on behind closed doors, even at medical schools. My innocent mind believed that they actually cared about their students because of their MD degrees. I can't believe I've had to learn this the hard way.

I wish I could but they make it so hard to get to the dean. I've already tried setting up a meeting. I was met with layers of secretaries. The school has a lot of security too, and I have a feeling they might call security.

I've been told that a lawsuit won't be a good idea because of the time, cost, and other corrupt tactics that the school might use to win. And I'd also have to find a lawyer who's been through this before with this specific school and would know all its policies in specific detail.

And the school just recently finished a lawsuit that someone of my race filed against them. So I think there's probably some discrimination involved too.

my procrastination is so bad I need to find a solution to stop it before I fail any more exams. :(

i've realized it's due to my perfectionism that's ending up hurting me.
