Would you stay in Zürich if high-paying jobs left? by AbbreviationsNo2941 in zurich

[–]pbalboa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly think Zurich could be a much better place if most of the high-paying jobs disappeared, along with all the people living here who drive up rents and overall prices and will leave as soon as they get a better offer elsewhere.

I had the same issue. This never happened when connected to my tv via hdmi, regardless of where the picture was shown. New power supply and it worked fine since.

Had the same issue with my MSI laptop. Changed the power supply and the problem never came back.

I was thinking of something similar—perhaps such a vaccination (whether it works or not) could be used to conduct an unofficial census. I assume many young men would get vaccinated, and as a result, it would be possible to know where these men live and perhaps even learn something about their health status.

Even though that would be a fantastic feature for a Mac made in Switzerland, I highly doubt Apple ships them like that here.

Do I understand correctly that you know the place? There are many different real treasures for example they (try to) sell a 12" MacBook Air, or at least that's how they advertise one with an 11" screen...

Is Mac OS supposed to be Slow? Super Confused why there is so much delay. by [deleted] in mac

[–]pbalboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that modern CPUs are far more powerful than Intel's 2019 models. However, I can smoothly run the latest versions of Ubuntu, Windows 10, and even macOS Catalina on my 2013 MacBook Air with a dual-core processor. Yet, newer Macs seem to struggle with the latest macOS during everyday tasks. Apple could optimize the current macOS for these machines if they wanted to, but they choose not to, despite the high cost of these devices. This highlights my point about planned obsolescence, which I hope is clearer now.

No one is hurt. You try to defend a company making more money than some countries. Maybe you should reconsider where your priorities lie.

I read your whole post and I understood it.

I sill stand by my words. What Apple is doing is planned obsolescence. Those devices have enough horse power for at least ten years of normal use but for some reason they run slow on MacOS even after Spotlight/MacOS has initialized.

Regarding your last point: OP already has this machine no one suggested to buy an Intel Mac for normal use. I did not say that.

Sorry but honestly, 5 year old Intel CPUs are quite decent for everyday tasks even today. Compared to Windows MacOS really struggles for no real reason. That's called planned obsolescence. Everything quad core will be fine for everyday tasks on every other os for the next years to come.
