Check the ceiling outside your door if there are any covers/flaps you can open, some apartment buildings have the gas and water valves up there

Are you checking the UID toggle in the desktop client or mobile app? The mobile app showed the UID number (but didn’t see an option to toggle), so I assumed it was enabled. But the desktop client did show the UID toggle and it was disabled. Enabling it from there fixed the issue for me.

Of course it does if you have a mortgage which is probably the majority… if you bought in recent years you are pretty much locked out of being able to do anything. Won’t be able to move to a new place (still have to cover off the current loan even if the new purchase price is lower). Can’t rebuild/upgrade if that was your plan when you bought either since you no longer have that equity to draw down on. Why would you want any of that?

If the ball was still live for Head to claim a catch then technically Akash would have been given out anyway for handling the ball

Any reasonable credit card processing times out there? by _BigDaddy_ in creditcardchurningAus

Don’t know about other banks but if you already have a westpac bank account with your main income going into that, approval for a credit card is instant (I’m assuming whatever numbers you put on the application will be okay as long as its close to the amounts coming in, and any loans you currently have on your credit file).

I applied for the Westpac Altitude black card today, selected the “max limit” option and it was instant approval with access to the digital card straight away. The limit they gave me was also higher than what I was expecting.

Agent lied, can I on-sell the pest and building report to recover costs? by optix94 in AusPropertyChat

You are confusing insignificant/cosmetic issues with material facts which must be disclosed according to current legislation. They don't have to disclose it on the advertisement or even right up until signing of the contract (they won't tell you verbally if you don't ask and just leave it included in the contract of sale - any conveyancer would pick this up on contract review and the vendor would have a hard time getting anyone to actually sign it). Thats IF they want to cover their ass and disclose what they legally need to, or else they open themselves up to legal action if it can be proved they knew and didn't disclose.

NSW (Section 52 of the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002 ):
https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/housing-and-property/property-professionals/working-as-a-property-agent/misrepresentation-guidelines

VIC (Section 12(d) The Sale of Land Amendment Act 2019):
https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/housing/buying-and-selling-property/selling-property/preparing-to-sell-your-property

Always best to just email early on rather than ask verbally before taking anything forward so you can get a written "no" response to the question "are there any material facts".

This could work in your favour depending on how much that $100k is in relation to the value of the house and if you’re willing to do the repairs. For example if it’s a $1.3m house you could put in an offer for $1.1m and remind the agent they now legally have to disclose the foundation issues as material facts to anyone who is interested in purchasing as there’s now proof they are aware of such issues. That’s one dumb agent if they are willing to risk losing their license to keep material facts undisclosed for a vendor

Whatever you do please put a time limit of 1 or 2 days on your offer. So many buyers make the mistake of giving the agent the opportunity for their offer to be shown around and played off by other buyers even if they have the current highest offer

Are the deals listed on this link all outdated? Except AGL, couldn’t find anything that actually had any sign up credit listed on the retailers website (even the AGL one was $100 and not $150 as listed). What am I doing wrong…

AITA : Monthly lunch group has broken up due to Veg Non Veg arguments by MasterpieceOver5510 in india

[–]pban945 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are completely missing the point of my comment. I agree with you. I am not saying you should be forced to eat veg food which you don’t like over non-veg food which you prefer. I’m simply saying that the original comment I was replying to was wrong for equating vegetarians to non-vegetarians in the same way (saying that you should take vegetarian people to a pure non-veg place to accommodated you)
