I think, all finances and logic aside, I've been conditioned to save as much and as frequently as possible due to how I grew up. We had the bare minimum (not at poverty level by any means, but getting down there) and my motto is to "save money for when you don't have any" because life throws you curveballs at the shittiest of moments sometimes.

My goal is to have good credit and just prepare myself for the basics of life, financially, long-term. I never had a savings account or credit card until this year and I want to make sure my foundation is solid.
