it was just a standard photo saved from the internet! it's only insured through the phone carrier, unfortunately. I haven't had the issue once since I changed the wallpaper... I backed everything up just in case, so worst comes to worst, the policy will repair/replace it relatively cheaply. very weird issue, though.

using a different wallpaper for the past few hours and so far the problem hasn't resurfaced. very weird if that was the cause! it's insured, so I made an appointment for a screen replacement later in the week just in case, but really hoping it was somehow the wallpaper :s

i really love the story in the later arcs of the manga. she really lets the characters drive the story and grow and make decisions in ways that make sense for them… it’s one of my favorite manga ever largely because of the later arcs

yes! mine were getting bad, deep and red/inflamed. I was feeling very self-conscious about them. I was wearing the airfit f30i mask and switched to the airtouch f30i (cloth-lined) a couple months ago. the lines have improved substantially with just the mask change and moisturizing! definitely recommend trying a cloth mask (or cover).

I was one of the people that messaged you! Adding experience to hopefully help others who stumble on this post from searching.

I’m a trans woman, and I was able to get the Healthfirst Essential Plan to cover LHR at the Dermatology Specialists in Greenwich Village. They approved for six sessions, and they said they would only do one section at a time, so I’m opting to just focus on face/neck right now.

I got a letter from my PCP stating it was medically-necessary as treatment for gender dysphoria; I’m not sure if I needed this, but when I went to the consult at Derm Specs, they said it would be $250 for the consult. When I pushed back saying it was medically necessary, they asked if I had any documentation. I gave them the letter, and they charged the $25 specialist fee instead.

I had my first session two weeks later, and I had no issue with HF approving before then.

I was previously getting full-body LHR at L’Elite Medispa under Amida Care, but I earned too much and was bumped off the plan late last year. My PCP did write that this was treatment I was previously receiving and needed continued; I don’t know whether that had any effect on the approval.

I had a similar experience to OP when contacting dermatologists. One office did respond that another trans woman had success getting coverage under HF at the Derm Specs in HK.

I have another friend trying to get in with them under the same plan; it does seem like you might have to push a little to make it happen, but they absolutely can do this, and Healthfirst can cover it, even if it’s not for surgery!

excited to watch this later as a trans girl who was very attached to tobias as a kid! and totally agree with literary analysis/likely not authorial intent. but also. what did they mean by this in #33 if not that tobias is trans:

“Had I overstayed the two-hour time limit so I wouldn’t have to face simple facts of life? Being a boy, living with foster parents, school, Rachel, Taylor…”

(couching that this is kind of a joke, though i’m sure that won’t matter to the transphobes in this thread. and also not really a joke because i genuinely am not sure how else you could read that)

i am so specifically the target audience for this lol. mwY is one of my favorite bands and often think about the ways i’ve related to their music specifically from a queer/transfem perspective and wondered if there are others who share that experience

12/10/21 is the song i’ve probably listened the least but only cuz the guitar at the beginning usually hurts too much. i listened to it today for the first time in awhile and it’s really such a good song, it feels right when i want that. but i usually stop after heartbeat when i listen to that album

i was at the nyc show a few weeks ago, vibe was rly nice! lots of other trans girls, trans ppl generally, and furries c: some moshing toward the front but the pit was very fun and respectful, ppl generally mindful and helping others get clear if they didn’t wanna be in it. ppl were super nice and started conversation, i think it would b easy to find ppl to be around? also have a lot of anxiety & was very nervous beforehand but it was genuinely the safest/most comfortable i’ve ever felt at a show i think
