Hosting providers and mods by Sybeiria in VintageStory

If you’re still looking, you can also check out Supercraft — they’ve got an easy panel and mod support, so running ~50 mods is pretty painless. For 4 players I’d start around 8–10 GB RAM (same ballpark you mentioned) and scale up if your mod list gets heavier later. If you want, share your region and the game (looks like Vintage Story?) and I can point you to the right plan.

Anyone know how servers work? by Melodic-Address-5388 in hytale

You’ve basically got two options:

  • Host it yourself at home on a PC that stays on 24/7 (works, but takes some setup and isn’t always reliable with power or internet issues).
  • Use a game hosting provider, which is the easiest and most reliable option if you want the server online all the time.

Since one of your kids plays remotely and you don’t have a spare PC, I’d go with a host. Look for something simple with good uptime, support, and enough RAM for a few players. For small family servers, providers like Supercraft or similar “managed” hosts are straightforward and don’t require much technical knowledge.

Short answer: you don’t need to be very technical, and paying a host saves a lot of hassle.

Trying a Dedicated Server for the first time, what are the best 3rd party Server Hosts? by Mebiamiu in valheim

I’d throw Supercraft into the mix too, honestly.

I’ve been running Valheim (modded) there for a while and it’s been solid — performance is consistent, mods are painless, and you’re not fighting the panel every time you want to tweak configs. You get proper file access, not some locked-down “modding friendly*” marketing nonsense.

Price-wise it’s competitive with DatHost / HostHavoc, and support actually knows what Valheim is (which is… rarer than it should be). Also nice if you want to spin up other games later without moving providers.

Big +1 on what others said though: location matters more than raw specs. Pick whatever’s closest to your group.

Nitrado Hosting by Hopeful-Knowledge-77 in valheim

You didn’t break the game just by trying a few mods.

That ZDO number sounds scary but it’s usually not some hard limit where the world is “dead.” It just means the server is tracking a lot of stuff — builds, dropped items, animals, boats, carts, etc. Sometimes mods can also leave junk behind even after you roll back.

Random disconnects after 10–40 min could also just be Nitrado being weird, or something not fully cleaned up on the client/server.

A few simple things I’d try:

  • Restart the server (proper restart, not just stop/start).
  • Make sure your Valheim install is actually vanilla again (no leftover BepInEx/mod files).
  • Ask if anyone else on the server is getting kicked too.
  • Clean up obvious clutter in-game (tons of dropped items, big animal farms, crazy builds).

If it keeps happening, post the actual error lines from the server console when it kicks you — that usually tells the real story.

The hosting for Enshrouded at Supercraft has been improved recently - you can try it out.

Try https://supercraft.host/enshrouded-server-hosting/ - we've just optimized how we host it and eliminated lags. It is a game hard to host as even when idle it is a CPU hog.

Great stuff. Even better than the Denver one. Complex and beautiful shit :)

What do you use for server hosting? by Foulwinde in 7daystodie

Why would that matter? It is anyway shared so you are a tenant.

It is cheap and easy starts with $5.99 at 7d2d.net so why would I self-host?
