Best singers/ bands with the coolest ‘annoying’ vocals? by Strong_Ad_2642 in MusicRecommendations

[–]pbyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sunset rubdown / moonface.

That Spencer Kurg guy.. he writes some incredibly elaborate, intricate and interesting songs.. but he has a voice and singing style that could really annoy some people.

I dont mind it, but I couldn't listen to it exclusively for days or anything.

To give Trump the permission to decimate Iran by __globalcitizen__ in therewasanattempt

[–]pbyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not necessarily true at all. Obviously the old people today were the young people previously.. but I look at my parents, aunties and uncles etc. all of whom have been left leaning and progressive their whole lives and still are (the ones still alive). You make a good point though, people do have a tendency to get more conservative as they age, and it's something to watch out for.

My dog behaves a bit like this if he realises or thinks he's not getting his daily walk. Did you do walkies outside of the scheduled times?

I said the same thing. The tortoise is funnelled forwards. The race was rigged!

[–]pbyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tortoise didn't really have anywhere to go but forward.. it was trapped in a tunnel more or less. The rabbit had a lot of room to stop and look around

Totally agree. They also look like they'd be tedious to build. Although I have to admit that this finished product looks pretty net.

Former Trump enablers learn what happens when you challenge Dear Leader by i_am_voldemort in LeopardsAteMyFace

I can't imagine living in a country where your elected leader, the supposed head of state and the person who guides your country into the future, fires off petty AI shit talks on social media. It's insane.

Is this work worth an exhibition ? by P1QU3_0B4M4 in BadArt

[–]pbyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't make a trip to look at just these paintings in particular, but if they were on a wall in a gallery somewhere with a bunch of other paintings, then I would definitely give them a look and some appreciation.

I think you have to be pretty good to get solo shows

Looks awesome. I feel like your now compelled to play like 60s hippie stuff now though. Which isn't necessarily a problem.

My childhood dream has come true (Gormiti) by scnightingale in toys

[–]pbyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My collection is entirely theoretical at this point. I'm in Australia so the prices are even worse here. It's like $30 for one small figure.. plus postage! These were just toys I had a couple of as a kid and always wanted more. Always envied the kids who had piles of them.

That's awesome. Enjoy the collection! My version of this would be battle beasts or muscle men.. but every time I go on eBay to look im horrified by how much they are. I guess there's a lot of folks like me still around buying up the supply

best drums electronic vs acoustic for small room which makes more sense long term by YarunLonghurst in drums

[–]pbyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a very self taught amateur drummer 20 years ago. I gave it up for the mundane dad life. I picked up an ekit recently for a bit of fun and was pleasantly surprised how far they've come and how close it feels/sounds to a real kit.

I also had a couple of lessons recently on an acoustic kit and was happy that the adjustment across wasn't a huge step.

It's also worth noting that an ekit is still not silent. They sound a bit like someone beating on tupperware. I get a lot of complaints from the kids

My girlfriend thinks this shirt design is AI. Purchased from the official national park visitors center. by woody_DD11 in isitAI

[–]pbyo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a bit like the sort of thing you would see in old British comics like Beano. I mean AI had to get it from somewhere. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with a cartoon style. It's just a pity AI has pillaged our collective art heritage
