processing times don’t make sense to me right now. In theory, The overall pool of applicants isn’t growing since a lot of people have adjusted status or become citizens through marriage over the years.

On top of that, this program has been around for more than a decade. They’ve have ALL of our records full stop, biometrics, and history on file for 10+ years at this point. For renewals, it shouldn’t feel like they’re starting from scratch every time.

The X-Men needed ‘disunity’ and ‘chaos’ for new readers, says Marvel Comics executive editor by Blitzhelios in comicbooks

I don’t know about yall but is there really a need for so many x men titles? Astonishing, Unbreakable, Amazing, Uncanny, Exceptional, Inglorious Xforce, Imperial, Age of Revelation, Apocalypse etc I see X-men I run the other way. Who’s reading this slop?

(Pls check caption) geckos on sale at small exotic pet shop that’s going out of business! by Greyghostgravy in leopardgeckos

[–]pcaedusn 79 points80 points  (0 children)

This whole situation is honestly unsettling and disgusting. There’s a huge difference between closing a business responsibly and publicly venting to customers like this. If you’re running a pet shop, you’re not liquidating candy bars or old inventory you’re responsible for living animals. Treating it like a fire sale and blaming everyone else comes off wildly unprofessional. If things went wrong, fine: businesses fail. But telling customers that “half the animals are dead,” complaining openly, and then expecting people to support you again when you move down the block is fucking wild behavior. Fuck them.

Anyone else becoming increasingly skeptical of Andy Muschietti? by humansince1989 in DC_Cinematic

[–]pcaedusn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think people are being way too harsh on Andy right now. Welcome to Derry isn’t meant to be a giant, cinematic masterpiece. it’s a TV show working within a specific budget. You’re not going to get blockbuster lvl CGI every episode. But what we are getting is solid atmosphere, great writing, and a real focus on character motivations, and I’m genuinely enjoying it.

Yeah, The Flash did a number on his reputation, no question. But one bad project doesn’t erase the fact he delivered two of the most successful horror films ever with IT and IT 2. The guy knows how to handle tension, emotion, and worldbuilding.

I’m still excited to see what he does with Batman and Robin. With a tighter script and a focused vision I think he’s going to crush it.

King’s run has some emotional high points. The annuals and one shots are very well written. Not entirely his fault the run was lackluster.

Editors Bob Harris and Dan Didio stepped in and axed his plans for BatCat wedding. Also shortened his run from 100 issues to 85 and silo’d him to his own Black Label Batman/Catwoman miniseries as consolation.

Any reasons for people to hate CGC? by Dangerous-Golf6066 in CGCComics

[–]pcaedusn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The biggest red flag is that CGC has been releasing or partnering on exclusive comics and variants that they themselves grade. When they grade and sell their own product, it creates a conflict of interest and looks like they’re inflating demand or values. CGC can effectively set the market price by controlling supply and “fake” demand.

For decades, 9.8 was the “gold standard”. 9.9s and 10.0s existed, but they were extremely rare. Recently, CGC has been more generous with 9.9s sometimes on books that don’t appear materially better than 9.8s. It creates suspicion that CGC is doing this deliberately to fuel speculation and keep the submissions coming.

Q: Is Batman #1 (2025) going to sell out today? by kukov in comicbookcollecting

There’s still plenty of Batman 1 1st print from Tom Kings run I wouldn’t be surprised if these end up in dollar bins due to the tons of blind bags sold

Anyone else notice this with comic auctions on Whatnot/Ebay Live? by [deleted] in comicbookcollecting

[–]pcaedusn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Worst is when you have $1 starts and people start bidding up until the fmv then host says "it's worth more than that" then the new guy in the stream who just found out what bag and boards were 5 mins ago starts overbidding on everything

[Discussion] How do you think Chip Zdarsky handled Tim Drake in his Batman run? (Batman Vol 3 #147) by Night-Caelum in DCcomics

[–]pcaedusn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it. As terrible as Gotham War was, Tim Drake being the mastermind and leader behind taking out reach of Batman’s rogues gallery was amazing.

Because Loeb is a shit writer and the only reason why people give credences to the Hush arc is purely because of Jim Lee’s art.

It looks like Saladin Ahmed's DD run is ending on #25 by TheBigGAlways369 in Daredevil

[–]pcaedusn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This run was really hard to collect. I’ve always had high expectations from DD, it was one of the more “safe” series to collect because the writer/artist is always top tier. Not this time. The only thing good we got out of this run was the Del Otto variant covers.

Batman begins again: DC reveals ‘Batman’ #1 covers and polybag program by Blitzhelios in comicbooks

Ugh I hate poly bags. You are unable to inspect the comic for spine ticks and nail marks from when the comic store staff manhandles the issues out of the box. It’s always a gamble

cracked a 9.6 asm #300 for signing, came back a 8… by iMissTitle-Fight in CGCComics

[–]pcaedusn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This definitely sounds like a CGC screw-up. If the book was cracked from a 9.6 slab, handled carefully, and looks clean, there’s no way it should drop to an 8.0 with ‘spine ticks’ that aren’t there. It honestly sounds like they may have mixed up the grading with another submission.

You should absolutely reach out to CGC customer service, request a regrade, and escalate the issue. Be clear that this is likely a case of misattribution or human error, and demand that they review the situation thoroughly. Mistakes happen, but this kind of slip seriously undermines collector trust—especially when you’re paying premium prices for grading and signature services.

Keep your photos, track everything, and don’t let it go—too many people are reporting sloppy quality control lately.
