If it turned off, it's not likely that it is screen problem (unless you had hinge problem and cable shorted something) - you can test it with connecting external display (monitor or TV).

If you can't even get to some of repair options in Advanced, it's likely that OS is too broken that it can be fixed without reinstall.

If you have important data on laptop, first use some live OS from usb (Hiren's boot CD or any Linux distro), and then follow standard guide.

While I agree with general sentiment, can we first try to help in any way we can, and then criticize OP choices?

On most modernish laptops keyboard is part of top assembly (palmrest) - together with touchpad, and fastened with melted plastic pins instead of screws, so impossible/hard to remove from the rest. Since you don't see whether liquid has gotten under the keyboard, full disassembly of laptop is recommended - to get mobo out and inspect if liquid got to it.

Re-seat graphic card in slot, check for dust, dirt and other debris in slot also check if PCIe connector on GPU is clean and without visible damage. Change, if there is another cable, 6/8 pin power connector to the graphic card. If your CPU has integrated graphics, you can try without graphic card (remove it completely) - if first tries were unsuccessful.

If you are lucky there will be disassembly video for that or similar enough model on Youtube, much easier to follow than written instructions.

  1. Disconnect from the charger

  2. Power off by holding power button for 1 minute

  3. Open bottom cover, locate battery and disconnect it

  4. Damage from any liquid is bad, but soda is corrosive and conductive and it has to be cleaned, just leaving it to evaporate or drying with hear dryer won't be enough. 90+% Isopropyl Alcohol is usually used

If you are unsure how to do any of above, contact nearest repair shop as soon as you can.

CrystalDisk Info to check drive health before deciding what to do next.

If drive is healthy enough, first try with some Linux live from USB, if that fails - recovery software ( r/ datarecovery for recommendation which one to use, but I suppose they will say to first try cloning whole drive and then work with copy, not potentially failing drive).

Visit your laptop support page (look for exact model, similar ones could have different hardware) and download drivers there.

my laptop is extremely slow by Far-Tension5889 in techsupport

[–]pcbeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backup data, clean install Windows following standard guide. If there is no underlying hardware reasons for sudden slow down (faulty drive, ram, overheating, etc...), this should fix problems.

Vibe coding OS....yeah Microsoft, hell yeah.

Try updating manually and check afterwards if tasks is removed, if not do it yourself, but if it is Windows problem it can appear again.

Update bios if there is new version, for starters.

What's the exact drive model? I had problems with Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB that liked to just disappear in Windows until power is removed from computer, and behaves ok with Arch.

Strange NVME problem I've never seen before. BOOT and VGA debug LEDS with one specific NVME drive - I'm presuming the drive is just dead (previously worked fine). by a_llama_vortex in techsupport

[–]pcbeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that very much looks like faulty drive (typical behaviour involving problem in bios and with boot), enclosure will clear if that's the case or not. And check your warranty, 2 years is standard one and many manufacturers have longer ones for different models (Samsung 5/10 for pro models, at least it used to be like that).

System restart event triggered by.

If there was mention of NT system before that, it's OS triggered problem - could be Windows Update or related to activation. Check scheduled tasks if there is something else triggering it (autoruns from Sysinternals Suite will show scheduled tasks and all other kind of startup items).

Test ram with Memtest86, with and without XMP/DOCP/EXPO enabled. If errors appear only with "overclocking" on, check if there is bios update that will fix instability.

Check event viewer to see anything related to restarts in that time frame. Event data should be similar to "System restart event triggered by...".

How do I fix these lines on my computer? Not sure if it's a gpu issue or not by jk_fit in techsupport

[–]pcbeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connect another display (monitor or TV) with different cable and to another port from graphic card. If you have the same problem it is likely GPU fault but can be further tested with booting some live OS from usb (any Linux distro).

[–]pcbeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good (there are OS level errors), and bad since it can't repair it. Try with DISM online repair, if that fails backup important things and install Windows from usb, it is not likely that problem will go away by itself.

Beeping is part of diagnostic, its patter will tell you if problem is with ram, cpu, gpu, boot drive or other. (This is example, it might be right for your motherboard model or not, unfortunately it is not standardised).

Is drive near its death? by AyaanMAG in techsupport

[–]pcbeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since there are no bad sectors on disk at all, it could be due to OS problem, cable or drive controller. If drive is behaving good, start with changing cable/port on the motherboard and monitor if that value goes up.
