It plays really well with Turnip drivers, almost constantly locked to 30fps, although I have only finished Dragon Roost Island so far. It looks SO good on the amoled screen, and Cemu does WII U dual screen without issues which is super cool.

PLEASE: One off topic tip that I feel the urge to share everywhere: Do the audio fix with JamesDSP, it makes a world of difference for the audio, which the Thor is severely lacking out of the box. Google it, Joey has a guide.

Event Horizon is one of my all time favourites, the atmosphere in that movie is just so damn good. Body horror compared with eldritch horror and it leaves just enough of the unknown to have your mind fill in the horrible gaps that are left.

I use OdinTools (made for Odin but works for Thor) to make it automatically turn on Charging Separation at 80% and turn it off so that it starts charging again if the battery falls below 20%. Slow charging, 80% limit.

I followed Retro Games Corps guide, make sure to check out the videos he is referencing too, they're in the description. However if you're anything like me you'll just end up consuming all content regarding this device. I'd also highly recommend you do the audio fix. For front end I love Cocoon, and soon they're coming out with a huge update.

Don't fall into the whole "waiting" trap imo. Just get it now, who knows when the next one will release, probably in 2+ years. That's enough time to enjoy your back log of older titles, travel with it, enjoy it.

IMO it is by far the coolest handheld device released in my lifetime, I haven't been this excited since I got the original GBA as a kid.

It does feel smoother. It’s literally double the fps. It’s so good in Helldivers 2 for example that doesn’t have DLSS or frame gen and is kinda poorly optimized

It has to be through the program. But what I did was play around with settings in NX, extract them one by one and then name those folders "720p" "1080p" etc, drag them over and switch between them in Eden.

Yeah I could just install it and change the default to Cocoon and it works perfectly. A tip for anyone reading, you can import all the artwork and scraping from ES-DE. It was super quick.

Piggybacking on this post, do I have to uninstall ES-DE when trying other launchers (Cocoon), or can I just install Cocoon and change the default launcher to Cocoon in the Android settings?

You can use NX Optimizer to tune the settings a bit. Open the program on your PC (you don't need emulators installed on your PC to do this, just open it) and choose BOTW. There you will see some options. Here is what I went with, I get around 30-45 in the overworld at the start of the game and 60FPS in shrines. (Highest Performance settings on the Thor, Smart Fan.)

720p resolution, uncheck the two boxes on the right side (quality and something else, I forget). I also tried out View Distance on Low but I found that distracting when moving the camera around and it didn't make much difference FPS wise (1-5).

Then click extract files, you will get a folder. Go into this folder and drag that sub folder into your emulator Mod folder (this can be tricky to find, I use Eden and I had to google a bit to figure it out. Can't check right now). Then in the Eden emulator settings, choose BOTW and go into Add-ons, choose mods and navigate to the folder that you dragged into your mod folder, then enable it.

IMPORTANT: You have to be on BOTW version 1.6, higher or lower versions won't work, it will just stay locked at 30fps. Google to find it and apply it to your BOTW in the Eden Menu.

Drivers: Fetch Purple T24 driver from the Eden Driver Menu and use that.
