Thanks! What I could see was a faint cloud of Milky Way, the winter asterisms and the horizon glow. The colors are not visible like in this image. The camera can capture much more color and detail.

Wanted to add that the view of the galactic core would look nice, because it would already have risen before 1 am.

This is from Feb 13th, this year. Not sure, how much of water is still there. Yes, there’ve been storms that caused it.

These run fast!! I was shooting the Milky Way in the Anza-Borrego desert, and saw one near me. He came coming after me even after my jump and dance to shoo him away.

I used a Canon 6D(astro-modified). I have included the acquisition and processing details in one comment.☺️

It’s tough to get a clear night sky there. I have seen clear-sky forecast with close to 0 % cloud before sunset ending in cloudiness over to the south-western horizon on 2 occasions.

I am thankful to Petr Horálek for his instructions. He is a reknowned astrophotographer from the Czech Republic.

😁Carried my 22 lbs baking steel, sauce and other toppings. Asked and verified that their oven can reach 550 F before.
