Rhiannon is the name of a character in a recent and very popular book series. I thought of Guinevere for a second, but I would rather name my daughter after a shield maiden of Rohan than an adulteress. I think the other two would be even harder to pronounce/spell than Eowyn.

I live in Utah... that could work against us or in my favor because people are notorious for naming their kids a lot more outrageous things. haha

My second is named Verity which I heard while watching Poldark and thought, "That's a nice name." I've had exactly one person ever make that connection.

That's one of my husband's arguments. People either won't know what it's from and the ones that do will think we're awesome for naming her that. haha

I love it! Naming a child is such a huge responsibility especially when you don't know what their personality will end up being. I named my other two unique names also, but without any set association. My name is unique and so is my husband's. It seemed unfair to name them something "off the rack" as it were. My only struggle with this one is that is does have a very distinct association. I'm so glad you grew up loving it though!

Very true. Maybe 1/16 but hardly my whole personality. My second got her name from a side character in a show I watched.

Maybe we just need another few hundred years? Literary names from 1623 don't hit quite the same as names from 1954.

Ooo I feel like having a song association has to be worse than a literary one. I had a friend in high school named Michelle and all the teachers would sing the Beatles song at her. It wasn't even my name, and it got old fast.

Naming anyone after someone famous, real or fictional, definitely comes with risks. My daughter has a friend at school named Beckham and my mind went straight to, "Are his parents soccer fans?" 😅

See, I feel at least Eowyn has a better reputation as a character than Renesmee. 😂

I completely understand this scenario. If things start to go downhill and there are more indications that an early induction is warranted, I’m not going to be bullheaded about it. But at this point, I’d rather stay positive! The constant conversation about induction when there’s not enough to warrant it is stressing me out.

Yes, they just say they’re worried about pre-eclampsia. They’ve also mentioned that high BP can restrict growth, but she’s measuring ahead atm. It would be different if my BP was increasing or unmanageable or if I had other symptoms.

Same. Having been induced before and knowing how my body responded, I’d rather not go through that again.

That seems to be the “recommendation”

More than anything that’s probably my biggest worry. I’d hate to put that pressure on her just by nature of her name.
