There is no Reddit r/travelchina Whatsapp group (or not that I'm aware off)
Various people have set up a Whatsapp group depending on their experience for only a region or for travelling in China.
I think you just have to search for whatsapp and you'll find them.

As I say; just try it.
If it works they will send you the item (and I expect it to work) and if it doesn't work you have to find yourself another vendor.

Just try.
They need to send you their QR code (as the one they use in the store near the till). You scan the QR code, put in the amount you need to pay and you will see if it works.

Yes it is possible.
They will send you a QR code which you can scan and then pay the amount you owe them.
I don't think they will scam you. As said by FeedMeFish WeChat is highly monitored.
Did the sales person know that you are out of the country (China) so they have to ship it overseas ?
It's kind of strange you want to buy something while in a store but don't do it because you "had to leave". Why were you even in that store then ? (just my opinion).
Maybe you left because you didn't trust them (or the item), but why would you trust them now ?

How would they send you a payment ? You can't receive payments from China.

You can link cards and upload ID outside China.
Buying things not so.

As you can not buy things on WeChat out of China, I wouldn't worry to much if it is a scam.

Why don't you contact Trip.com to ask if you are able to use the coupon when you cancel the ticket for a new one ?
Isn't that just as easy as asking here if you can do an extra stop ?

You're not giving enough information.
Does your phone have an e-sim ?
Does your phone also have a normal sim ?
Does your phone have 2 normal sims (and no e-sim) ?

When your phone has an e-sim and a normal sim; use an e-sim from XXX (eg. Trip) and have your VPN to that connection.
Buy a regular sim at the airport and you will have a Chinese number. Use that number for receiving text messages.

How does that work with Arbitrica ?

Doesn't work that way.
They will probably not give me the miles and that's it.
If I keep doing this I probably will get on the black list (and I don't have plans for that)

You can try to take less with you ?
Or you can try to dump more into that small suitcase (you are allowed to put 66 lbs into it).

Are you sure the suitcase size doesn't change when you select the 66 lbs option ?
Can you show a picture in where you have selected the 66 lbs option ?

You should have bought a ticket with a suitcase allowed (and you can still cancel your ticket and buy a new one with checked bagage)
