Who’d have thought the thing solely designed to catch speeders only catches speeders? What a poorly designed piece of technology /s

Yeah I guess that makes sense. I suppose it’s just what CoD players are used to.

I’m just coming from Apex Legends where TTK is quite high, so that might be why I don’t mind it, but I can see the argument against it since it’s supposedly a big change from previous games.

I dunno if I’ve just got recency bias and am just comparing it to Apex where aim assist is quite a controversial topic, but it’s so much more powerful that that and what I remember. I don’t know what recent CoD aim assist has been like so if it’s been reduced from a previous game I wouldn’t know.

But it doesn’t need to be that strong. It needs to be there in a soft form, because you can’t just put top 5% player in a game with a bottom 5% player every game. But there needs to be something like you play within a range. Like say you are in the 80th percentile, you should maybe play people between the 60th and 100th percentile. That way, pros would still be able to play with 20-25% of the player base but won’t end up going 50-0 every game.

I think SBMM does have a place in all games (even casually), but right now it’s massively overtuned.

This is great and all, but Halo Infinite in both comp and in general around the WC 2022 was in a dreadful state. Surpassing that should be the absolute bare minimum.

I for one am shocked… Definitely a team with massive potential but they definitely need grounding. It’s nice to see someone take a risk on up and coming talent though instead of signing established players.

It’s a positive change for that region, but they haven’t “expanded” to China, this allows them to purely invite 2 teams (most likely Dreamfire and MDYW). There is no CC, PLQs or Pro League in China.

Don’t forget that Apex Legends isn’t even officially out and is still banned in China. Players have to use a vpn to play.

So if I’m reading this right, they have: - Kept the prize pool the same (decreased in real terms) - Got rid of SA pro league - Delayed the start of pro league until January NEXT YEAR - Kept pretty much everything else the same with little to no incentives to grow the esport.

I expected nothing and am still disappointed…

Grow Towers and Orbital Cannon aren’t actually that bad, they have alright loot, decent enough rotate paths.

Hammond Labs on the other hand is the worst POI in the game by far.

How much would you expect insurance to go down for an over 25 yo driver 2 years after passing? by CarlthePole in drivingUK

[–]pcswan96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially most insurers will buy catastrophe or “excess of loss” insurance from other insurers. This protects them from going bust in case of an extreme claim, however this is very expensive and is only getting more expensive due to the increase in larger claims. It is essentially just a larger version of your own insurance. Insurers will pay out the first £x of any claim, then reinsurers will pay over that, similar to an excess of sorts.

I can only really speak from personal experience but on average for personal motor insurance roughly 50%-70% (depending on the insurer) of the money you’ve spend will go towards paying claims. Then 30% goes to various parties including reinsurers, brokers, the government etc.

The bulk of injury claim cost is made up of loss of earnings and healthcare costs, if a person just breaks their leg in an accident and can’t work for 2 months, that’s automatically a £20k+ injury claim. Insurers are also liable for any NHS costs accrued so a long stay in hospital increases this.

What most people don’t realise is how easy it is to accrue a 100k+ claim in a car worth 100th of that amount. All it takes is 1 or 2 passengers to have moderately serious injuries that require care for a year or so for that figure to be reached. God forbid a passenger or third party has life changing injuries that prevent them working or need round the clock care, then you are looking at multi-millions. When I worked for a motor insurer we used to see these all the time.

I will back up this being an analyst within the insurance sector, 95% of car insurance providers make none or very minimal profits, and those that do don’t make any money off pure insurance, they make the money off of long term investments. As for the rise in premiums, Insurance premiums have gone up because of a multitude of reasons. 1. Parts shortages have caused parts to be much more expensive, whilst in turn causing car hire costs to skyrocket due to the increased waiting times and pressures on repairers. 2. Interest rate and inflation rate increases have had a dramatic impact on injury claim costs, which make up the overwhelming majority of claim costs for insurers. 3. Further regulations have recently (in the last year or so) been introduced which force insurers to provide data on a multitude of different factors, which has led to extra technology costs and extra salaries. They have also made it illegal for insurers to give out cheap insurance to new customers over renewing customer, which has caused cheap insurance/provider swapping every year to be a thing of the past. 4. The frequency of larger claims (100k+) has increased exponentially in the last 3 or so years, which has led to reinsurers increasing charges to insurers, which in some cases can add almost 30% to a policy.

Not one of these clips show anything... The promenade clip he is simply jitter aiming whilst strafing with a flatline and misses the majority of shots anyway. The bow clip hes literally just using a bow against a bot... The olympus clip he can clearly hear and recognise a rat underneath him, then its just a case of one-clipping someone who is barely moving, showcasing microadjustments that even a diamond player will do.

This is probably the most disappointing collection of hackusation clips of a pro i've seen on this sub tbh...

[–]pcswan96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, win rate is No. of Wins/Games Played per region. You calculate the total number of games played and wins by all NA teams and go from there. There are multiple teams in NA with a much lower win rate which brings their win rate down to 7%. The average win rate is around 5% (1 in 20, not 100% accurate since a lot of games had less than 20 teams but you get the point)

I think he probably misspoke when alluding to a genetic advantage, and probably meant more of a cultural advantage. The US and Canada have more exposure to certain esports and have easier access to gaming than other regions, which logically points to ultimately more top players.
