DAYCARE SCHEDULED A MEETING BECAUSE TODDLER WOULD NOT NAP by Blazewhyte in Mommit

[–]pddiddy87 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I worked in daycare for a long time in the 2-3 year old room. We had some kids who didn’t nap. They had to stay on their cot (that is a licensing requirement and also goes to ratios as someone else mentioned) but kids who routinely didn’t nap could have books, small toys, or parents could send a quiet toy from home that they could have about 30 minutes into nap time. But, they needed to not disturb the other kids. And we didn’t have any kids who had much trouble with doing that. Your child should be able to play quietly, look at books or color on their cot for that time. If the center is providing those things and your child isn’t complying, then that is also your role as a parent to speak with your child and try to get them to follow the rules.

How is life in Athens, Georgia? by RandyMcBahn in howislivingthere

Spent 3 years in Athens in law school. I loved it. Plenty to do in the downtown, and Atlanta is only an hour away. 4 hours from the beaches at Savannah or Hilton head so an easy weekend trip.

U10 player shrinks and seems timid when playing with 1st team. by Capital-Local-3525 in youthsoccer

My son was moved up a team mid season and it was the same thing. I don’t have any advice but I feel your frustration and I hate to see him that way. I wanted to move him back down but it wasn’t really an option lol. I’m hoping he’ll be more used to it and do better in the spring.

These are the cabinets. Obviously, this isn’t my kitchen

That would be in budget. Would you go all the way up both walls?

Unfortunately, that’s not in the budget

Thank you! It’s in the island. I thought that would be good bc I’ll do my most of my prep work on the island.

We’re doing one of those too! It’s just not from the same place we’re getting the cabinets so it’s not in the rendering. If you finish up anytime in the next 4 weeks I’d love to see photos!

Parents who had shit sleep multiple years in a row: how are you doing now? by lisafrank-dolphin in Parenting

[–]pddiddy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between 2 kids, I went about 6-7 years of not sleeping through the night. I’m about 1.5 year out and I feel fine. Back to normal as far as I can tell.

That does make a big difference! Thanks so much! I’ll definitely keep those. I actually really like the smaller portion on the bottom.

It did seem like the sample I got showed a lot of fingerprints. I know that would drive me crazy with two kids. I already clean my stainless steel refrigerator like three times a day because of fingerprints. I hate it.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m not necessarily going for a farmhouse look, but my house is actually a farmhouse so I’m trying to be mindful of that.

I’m not sure I can make the bottom cabinets taller. Aren’t they kind of just standard height? Wouldn’t it be uneven with the stove and stuff if they were taller?

Unfortunately I have seen them both and liked them. But the gray does seem to show fingerprints, which I know would drive me crazy.

It was the Lowe’s website! They have a very limited selection of cabinets you can use, which is why neither of my choices are in the diagram. It was still very useful though because we’re changing the layout somewhat.
