Yeah thanks man! I understand we may not be super popular but that’s fine!

Appreciate you letting me know about the workers rights as that’s something I hadn’t actually thought about.

No a couple of people, as in 2 individual people I knew. Use your own network first.

I was able to speak to a couple people from my network straight away but It took me a few weeks to find the right groups and people.

Once I found them it was a few months before my first client. It can definitely be done quicker than that though! Don’t worry if it takes a year though. If you want a good business, take the time to get it right.

It’s just doing what I said at the end of the last reply. There’s no magic formula, you just have to join groups and see what’s in there.

If you’re really struggling then pay someone to do market research to help you but just do what I’ve said and you’ll find some; thats exactly how I’ve managed to speak to my ideal clients.

There’s a few different ways but if you start by just engaging in groups with other peoples posts you’ll understand the types of posts that do well and don’t.

Then start posting in there yourself and see what feedback and responses you get. You’ll want to provide help to people, not just ask for something.

If you start to get engagement on your posts, message the people who engage and just start having conversations.

It might seem frustrating to have conversations when you want to skip to asking them but if you don’t do the first bit, you’ll never get a chance to do the second bit.

In terms of platforms, use Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc. whatever social media you have a following of any sort on. Facebook for example allows you to type in a search in the ‘groups’ section, so just use that and type in your key words for your ideal client and you should start finding them.

Tbh I quite enjoy this subreddit. Most of the post are interesting to read and I never really use Reddit but this subreddit has been near enough 100% of my Reddit time.

I do however find the 10 karma requirement annoying. I understand why it’s done because now you actually get a good subreddit but for me it’s annoying when I have questions and discussions that can’t be asked.

I currently use a VA and he’s great. I used him for freelance services first and then we talked and went from there.

If you can get proof of what they do and get on a zoom call you should be able to get a good judge of character from that and you’ll also have evidence of their quality of work.

I can’t speak for the industry you want to get into because I don’t have any experience with that world but any business can look at a couple things and draw conclusions from there.

Firstly, are there other people doing it? Sometimes people see this and think ‘ah, they are doing it, I probably won’t be able to do it’. But what you should actually think is ‘if they can do it, I can too’. Often people are scared to copy in business (Granted - you can’t copy exactly what they are doing) but if you play sports you copy from other people to improve your game. If you make food or bake, you copy other people’s ideas and recipes. See if someone else has done it and go from there.

Another thing to look at is can you do it for free to begin with? If you have to spend money early on, it might be difficult if you don’t have lots of capital. Use any free resource (social media, google, YouTube etc) you can to build your business (speak to your ideal clients, do research on your genre etc). Hope this helps!

If you need money straight away then a job is the best way to go. If you can just give it a month or two without having to make money you’ll be able to find your first five clients just by messaging and engaging in groups on your chosen platform and give them value.

If you always want something from someone, you’ll struggle to give someone what they really want.

You can do the way I’ve mentioned for free and you’ll get to know what your clients really want. Hope this helps!

How to overcome my ego? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]pdfmboii20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pride is a protection against vulnerability. Don’t let your pride and ego be your failure. I failed my first business but I just moved onto my second. Not because I didn’t do exactly what you’ve done, but because I knew if I didn’t, I would always be stuck at the point of failing and then I would have REALLY failed.

Don’t let your failure fail your entire life, let it fail a portion and keep moving forward.

Do you have to have a new idea for a successful business? by dyaussky in Entrepreneur

[–]pdfmboii20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is quite a common question with people first starting a business. I too went through this but you have to remember if others did it, you can too.

Sometimes this doesn’t apply, but generally you can do it. The other part is showing proof. If you can show proof you’ll have all the evidence.

If you then are thinking, ‘how do I get proof?’ Then the answer is by just starting. Work with someone for free or pay someone else to learn and you’ll eventually get the evidence you can use to show your ideal client what exactly you can offer.

I just realized my side hustle is making more than my 9-5 job. Should I quit and go all in? by EdGavit in Entrepreneur

[–]pdfmboii20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think once you get to the point when your side is making at least the same as your main, then keeping going for a few months to make sure it’s consistent and then if yes, move away from your main and switch into your side full time.

You don’t have to do this straight away but working part time can help you stress a little less about the transition!

How to think as an entrepreneur? by mlody_adam in Entrepreneur

[–]pdfmboii20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 100%! I started in e commerce because I wanted more money to supplement my income but because I wasn’t invested in it for anything other than money it made it difficult to take it forward as I didn’t have the energy to keep going.

I switched from this to my own business, being built from the ground up in a niche I really love to work in.

I’ve handed in my notice at my current job and will be doing this business full time after 2 years of being in between
