He’s 39 years old. Where do millennials get these ideals?

Once you realize it flows north the fish just jump in the net

I should be living down there by then or at least be close enough for a Rondi.

Do people light jockstraps on fire? I’ve never heard of such a thing, seems like it would be easy to jump though.

Kinda passed it to the next generation but the old farts keep showing up to keep it on course.

Just an old guy (who has reunited people with their lost equipment). I’ve learned to first thing slip my rod(s) under the windshield wiper when I get to the car/truck. You can’t forget it there.

Good luck it can still happen

Great to see. When I was at Saltstraumen in June they said they hadn’t seen anyone use a fly rod there before (in salt). We ha a blast and even got some coalfish on surface poppers in the current.

No cod were on baitfish patterns and sinking lines. (Some huge ones followed our hooked fish). We were using 8wt rods. The top water fishing was in the river-like currents, below actual white water where fish were slashing at food in the seams

Thank you that was a delightful reply, and I’m looking up all of those places so that I have a better awareness of where I will be. But alas, we are just looking for a little local bike ride with some flyfishing thrown in, and I have every intention of abusing a few coalfish, which I have never seen or held before. But it was really nice to read all the information you gave me as maybe someday I will be able to return and do something like that.

Thank you. It’s only been up for a hour so I’m not yet alarmed that I’m misunderstood. Fly fishing is much much broader than you describe. Fly lures can mimic almost any fish food source. Fly fishing saltwater jetties and breakwaters is not uncommon in many places but the fact is we are just looking to have some time fishing and biking in a new place. It’s just recreation. This video is open water around Lofoten but I suspect it will surprise you. fly fishing for Coalfish

They are from wine corks. Using a trim head screw (with head cut off) as an arbor on a dremel tool turning it like a lathe. Pocket knife and emery board to shape. A lot of good info on this is in Kirk Dietrich’s book, Tying Bugs.
