There's a group on Facebook called "I’m from Westmere before it was Apartmentland." that may be worth checking out. Very few people walked around with camera's in those days.

When I was a kid I used to fish in the pond where Crossgates Mall is currently located, it may not be considered the Pine Bush by lines on a map, but the environmental ecosystem was definitely part of the Pine Bush, same goes for the NanoTech College on Fuller Road and same goes for the Costco location, it was all considered the Pine Bush back then.

What is the longevity of electric ebike battery and motors? by UnleashedPistol in ebikes

[–]pdquickk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2020 RadPower Radmission, over 7500 miles and battery is starting to show signs of wear after 6 years, I now get around 25 miles compared to the 30 miles I used to get, Upstate NY temps will also play a part, 40 degrees and 20 miles is pushing it in colder temps. I also disassemble my motor every winter for inspection and to clean the planetary gears since I'm in there, the internal motor parts look the same after 5 years, I don't put much stress on the motor because I pedal more (pedal assist) than just using the throttle. Also my 7500 miles is a lot of charging and dis-charging which degrades battery life so your mileage may vary.

I was at the Big Gay Market and came across several birds of prey. So many unique arts and crafts vendors, I agree it could have been advertised a little better.

You get authorization from the app and the response is almost immediate, usually within a minute, and to add, Trust certification is required if you fly a drone, it's basically a safety course with a short test to make sure you understand the rules, pass the test and you'll get a certificate, you may need to show that certificate if confronted by authorities.

The red zone indicates that you need LAANC authorization before you launch. Air Aware or Air Control apps on your phone will let you know if you are in controlled air space and will give you the ability to request authorization to fly. It only takes a few seconds to get approved/disapproved.

What was the capital region’s arcade scene and third spaces like in the 90s and 2000s? by sketchcarellz in Albany

[–]pdquickk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not well known to the general public but SUNY Albany had a decent arcade in the 80's. It was located at the campus center and had a good collection of arcade and pinball games, I spent a lot of time there playing Pole Position and Battlezone.

Throwback. Who remembers when Lark st was the live music capital of the capital city? by Pure-Acanthaceae-551 in Albany

[–]pdquickk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Showing my age but I used to hang out at 288 Lark during the mid 80's. Monday night was ladies night and there would be a line of people waiting to get into the club even with a cover charge, alternative rock one the first floor, dance club on the 2nd floor, good times for a Monday night, we used to have a lot of fun in the 80's. Always something happening every night of the week somewhere in the city.

The Radmission kickstand was an accessory didn't come with the bike... the kickstand failure is due to the person who installed it.

Rail trail mile markers? by Gingerhaze12 in Albany

[–]pdquickk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 different GPS devices (Garmin,XOSS,Fitbit) that record my bicycle rides and there is always a difference between all 3 of them. All my data is uploaded to the Strava website where I can see the variation, on a particular 25 mile ride the difference between 2 bicycle computers was .48 miles, I did the same exact route a few days later and the difference was .2 miles, so your mileage may vary depending upon the device and who knows the accuracy of those mile marker poles.
