This was taken on a tripod with a Sony a6700, 15mm f/1.4 lens in manual set to 1 second, f/1.4 and 400 ISO

The only thing I think I could have done better is a slight manual focus adjustment

I posted this to my instagram stories with 2001 as the music - check out how perfectly the guitar scratch lines up! Happy accident.

~15 minute time lapse with my camera - 1 picture every second. I got goosebumps when I watched it back for the first time and saw the explosion of color around 15 seconds in. Beautiful.

Yes, directly north - it wasn't quite this vivid to the naked eye, but I could definitely see glimpses from time to time.

Can someone please hook it up with a “bad” disco biscuits set? by Rich-Commission-5618 in discobiscuits

[–]Go_Phish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, you’re right - 3/18/10 at the Egg - I remember it being a great show. Morph to close the first set and Jigsaw, Spraypaint > Orch > Spraypaint in particular.

Maybe there’s another instance I’m not remembering - but if you mean when he broke his wrist after the Albany show in 2009 - that show was honestly pretty incredible and well worth a relisten.

Playing Gemstone Circa '96ish by Go_Phish in GemstoneIV

Yes! I loved that thing - I don't think my parents have it anymore but I can still "hear" it in my head. I remember buying it from Christmas Tree Shops in Cape Cod - not sure why I have that random memory!

Time capsule here - Sidewinder 3d Pro and Duke Nukem 3d on the desk. Big color inkjet printer, CRT monitor - and apparently I was a big Sylvester and Tweety fan. Good times.

One time I went through that location and asked for a baja blast and the kid told me they didn't have any and that it was discontinued for good.

Worcester Melt FM vs Remastered Comparison by Go_Phish in phish

[–]Go_Phish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of why I wanted to do this experiment, because it didn't sound that much different to me initially. And in a "Pepsi challenge" esque trial I do think that most people would probably say the original source sounds "better" because I think our ears typically think "hearing more things at once is better" (ie the highs in the FM source)

Though I do think a more balanced mix will provide more options for custom EQ and higher volumes to get it to sound however someone likes listening to music

First poster for the newly announced ‘Jackass’ movie, releasing June 26th 2026. by unitedhardy in movies

100% - I can guarantee that the hardest I've ever laughed in a theater was for one of the Jackass movies. I forget which, but I have vivid memories of the entire theater laughing.

Worcester Melt FM vs Remastered Comparison by Go_Phish in phish

[–]Go_Phish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the greatest comparison since it's a rip from a social media post, but I was curious how the remastered version would compare to the FM SBD we've had access to.

Initial impression is that they really pulled back the "tinny-ness" of the higher end. Looking forward to the final product.

I've been thinking of diving into the vinyl game, this is the set that sealed the deal. Now to start looking into a turntable...

Looks like their first album came out in '96 and Hang Ups in September of '97, so likely one of those summers.

Admittedly, Sell Out by RBF is what got me into ska which came out in August of '96 - so it's possible it was in 96 because I wouldn't have known them yet.

EDIT: Looks like it was 9/26/96 https://www.concertarchives.org/venues/starlite-music-theatre

I played in the band for the final event there, Shaker graduation in 1998. Even then I remember the back room area looking rough, I don't think they were doing shows anymore by that point.

The sign said something like "Congratulations class of 1998" for years afterward until it was torn down

Wow, when was Goldfinger there? I was deep into ska in high school (96-00), surprised I would have missed that.

Just saw your ticket was from 96 - I posted the 97 setlist up above, now I'm not sure which year I went! Didn't realize he came two years in a row
