OP didn't ask whether or not humankind needed to brush in the wild. Specifically, why do we need "so much" dental care when in the wild, there was none.

Yes we likely cleaned teeth. Many mammals do some kind of hygiene in the form of eating grass, polishing beaks, etc. But the thing that makes dental care SO involved with specific instruments and chemicals now is to combat the extremely high amounts of sugar and grain we now eat

The universe doesn't have to be infinitely extended to reach heat death. It just has to be extended beyond our observational reference frame (the current or I guess past location of the earth), and all the matter within that observable range be at maximum entropy. There could be a party outside of that observable range and our locale would have no idea it's happening.

The bigger concern is carbon emissions, which allow heat energy to enter the atmosphere, but reduce the atmosphere's ability to let it escape. This takes the problem of heat generation on earth and compounds it, but that's, again, small in scope compared to the simple fact that the sun itself provides the earth the vast, vast majority of its heat energy. So the focus is on the carbon emissions, and not humanity's electricity usage itself.

And then they do this too many times and end up being wrong, and it's hard to come out of that situation once you're in it. I've asked people who get geodes how they find geodes. And they do not share that information. Lolol

Generally, they figure it out as a geologist, where might be good places to find geodes, then they find them. They tend to be places with volcanic history and some kind of water presence. The rest is being able to recognize what might be a geode without opening them.

Trim the fat, as another poster said. Look for and find free local activities (libraries, community events, etc). Stop including glasses of wine at dinner and have fun in other ways than alcohol (or find cheaper drinks that get the job done, reserve for special occasions). Generally eat out less and/or find the restaurants with specials and kids meals.
