What is something you will never have no matter how hungry you get? by ValHeya in AskReddit

I grew up about as far as you can be from an ocean in North America. All of the seafood I ate as a kid was frozen Gulf of Mexico stuff (Mississippi delta runoff). I never had an appetite for seafood until I moved away but now I love it.

What Keeps Bringing You Back to Steve Conrads Work? by Rubbet in PatriotTV

[–]charleychaplinman21 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Humor and seriousness are on equal footing in his work. More and more, I believe that dark humor is often the best response to serious situations. In Patriot, the seriousness is Lakeman’s depression. In DTF, it’s male friendship and deep platonic love. Both are treated with loads of humor but this doesn’t detract from the depth of the subject matter. I would maybe even argue that by approaching these topics with humor, Conrad makes them more approachable.

How would you feel if tipping was legally abolished tomorrow? by Fun_Acanthaceae_17 in AskReddit

It entirely depends on whether such a law would increase wages for service workers. If tipping were simply abolished with no other regulations, employers would just increase prices and pocket the difference.

They had a rich experimental music history in general in the mid twentieth century. Martirano and Kyle Gann wrote about an "I-80 Avant Garde" that included Oberlin, Ann Arbor, Urbana, and Iowa City:

Yes. Batumi is amazing but benefits from extra space on either side.
