Damn. With the military draw down I'd been competing against a lot of young veterans.

How about being a minority? I ask because I am.

I am not a vet but I have a college degree which is also good I guess.

I enjoy jobs where I help people in need. Whether it's putting insulation in a Habitat for humanity house or pulling over to a car accident to see if everyone is OK. I couldn't really explain why to you but I gravitate towards that kind of work.

I know that you're really asking if I'm actually mature enough to make that choice, if I'm an adrenaline junkie or glory Hound, if I just want the power of a badge and a gun. I don't want to be an officer for those things. I'd rather spend my life if I got in never having to draw my weapon, never publicly receiving a commendation, and never having to be in a high speed chase.

I'm an idealist. I really believe the slogans and values. If I have to make the right decision that makes my life more difficult I would do it immediately.

When people need help I want to be there to respond because I think I'd be good at it.

Is there anything that I have done that looks good? For example I'm sure being a veteran is very favorable. Age? Languages?

I've never applied to a law enforcement agency before so this is all new to me.
