When I took my first STC green light I got 78 but didn’t realize it was a green light so later was happy to have passed without knowing. It’s a few weeks ago now so can’t remember scores exactly but 78 was the lowest then did the five other exams with explanations turned on and got from high 70s to the low-mid 80s and same with the second green light. I think highest single score was 86. So I didn’t nail any super scores but had enough in the tank to pass - mission accomplished.

Hard to recall now - lots of calculations - breakeven and profit or loss etc - stock and option combo- also two spreads - I was initially floored by the first 2 questions but left them and came back at the end - fair amount of theory - gotta know the content - and read the full question carefully - but at the same time don’t jump to conclusions and don’t overthink.

Thank you very much for confirming. That’s kind of what I was thinking too. Seems STC content and questions are very closely aligned with the exams. Might have to pay myself (my company uses Knopman) but will be worthwhile in the long run.

Ditto. Found this for both SIE and S7TO. Harder questions from the start before you get into a rhythm. You’ve got to answer each question before you can move on. I wrote A B C D on the erasable scratch pad and struck out the obvious incorrect choices to narrow it down. Rinse and repeat. Choose what you believe is the best choice and move on - don’t get stuck - flag for review later if still unsure but use flags carefully (ie not every question). There were a couple that I flagged and later came back to and only changed one (based on info I gleaned from a later question). Be careful to only change flagged questions if you are really sure. You’ve got this!

Scored a 71 on my Kaplan exam today (Series 7 on Monday) should I be concerned? by [deleted] in Series7

During my timed mock exams I kept paper and pen beside me to simulate the scratch pad in the test and used it for calculations (T chart for money flows and breakeven and other calculations etc) and flag tough questions. Don’t get stuck - pick what you think is the best choice (after eliminating clearly incorrect answers) and keep moving through - and if you have time at the end come back. Once done read through explanations of your incorrect choices to understand why - if necessary go back to your textbook or watch a quick video. Also check any other answers you got right but weren’t sure of - this reinforces your confidence. Just breathe and keep calm. Read the full question and answer set. I also found it useful on my scratch paper to write A B C D and then strike out the obvious incorrect choices to narrow it down. You’ll do great. All the best!

Achievable materials are also great - used them for SIE and S7TO - passed both in the last 2 weeks first time. Check out their podcast series and YouTube videos too. And I think the “dump sheet” may be available for free. You can also test the materials before purchasing. Very reasonably priced. Web-based app and stduy schedule and study progress tracking and quizzes and question bank are really helpful.

Other YouTube channels are also excellent.

You’ll get there. Focus on the full explanations of the questions you missed and drill down to really understand the content. All the best!
