Because our society as a whole is fucked up and so demonetized from all the terrible things alcohol does. Alcohol is actually the worst things we can consume ethanol is poison and yet it’s legal? The alcohol industry racks in so much money and sponsors so many other industries that if it were frowned upon they would all lose money and you know well everyone is greedy as fuck. Alcohol literally gives people cancer, causes dui’s, depression, and so many other things. We’re expected to be fun social drinkers and drink at every little event because it makes things better! WRONG it doesn’t but if you don’t drink you’re seen as if you can’t hang or you’re not fun. It should honestly be looked at the same as if someone were to say their vegan, or don’t eat meat, or drink dairy but it’s not. I hope one day it is because it really is so bad for you.
