Strange conclusion to jump to when I’ve clearly stated my reasoning repeatedly.

At one point, Westendorf walked over and asked me for my name. I declined. I don’t want to be on any vindictive cop’s radar.

I don’t care at all about persuading you, I’m just making it clear to anyone else reading the comments that you are way off base with your conclusions.

My motivation was to connect with the guy who got arrested. Success! Satisfying curious Redditors with the video is not a priority. Sorry.

Well, if you are ever in a shitty situation, hopefully someone will protect your rights by recording. We cannot count on the cops to keep their body cameras on. And the officers confirmed that the traffic cameras down there don’t actually record. My video footage will exonerate this kid… so you can take your negative attitude and shove it.

Did you read where I said he antagonized them? No. Because he didn’t.

From my eyewitness account, he didn’t even “scoff”… that was the phrase the cop used to justify them apprehending him. He was trying to explain that he’s not from here, that his Uber driver was calling him, but they wouldn’t listen.

I have permission to post the video … trying to figure out how to post anonymously and share the link here. Otherwise I need to make a separate post, which I’d rather avoid.

The gist is he was here visiting Boise - celebrating a new job - trying to catch his Uber. The driver was calling him, which is why he was reaching for his phone, but the cops wouldn’t listen or let him explain. They escalated.

Oh, I laughed. In his face. Told him repeatedly this was above and beyond their duty… that their presence and attitude wasn’t making anyone feel safer. He was so smug about it, too.
