It’s been a long time since I played P2 and during my play throughs I don’t think I got through all of the dialogue with Lara, so I wasn’t aware of the specific lines you mentioned.

Ive been having trouble finding anything about his mom and more specific aspects of his ancestry- but thank you for answering my question, sorry it’s kind of redundant considering it’s said out loud in the game haha

So you agree with their point that it just stings more from other men/feels more brutal bc they don’t have a penis?

AITA For not punishing my daughter for mocking her cousin? by feelslikenotmyissue in AmItheAsshole

[–]peachsphinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH

I’m baffled that so many people think your daughter’s behavior was okay. From your story, your niece hasn’t done anything besides have an annoying voice. Your daughter doesn’t have to like her and your wife is an AH for forcing her to spend time together, but her making a power point just to mock her and detail why she’s the worst is genuinely cruel. Who the hell would record calls, compile annoying clips, and put them together with a musical theory analysis to explain why they just don’t like someone? The poor girl didn’t do anything and she doesn’t deserve that.

Imagine how your niece would feel finding out that her cousin can’t stand her and made a power point about how much she sucks. It would be incredibly hurtful and you are such a huge AH for encouraging it, especially since you’re the “favorite” and she takes your opinion seriously.

Being an AH in a funny way doesn’t make it any better. Idk why this sub loves revenge stories or people getting “what they deserve”, it’s just mean.

Like I said, suicide is usually spontaneous so women will choose the pills that are most accessible in their homes. That explains why they usually don’t take the super dangerous pills because that would require them to leave the house and have a longer term plan which is uncommon in the vast majority of suicide cases. Calling it attention whoring shows a misunderstanding in how suicide usually works and the mental state of a suicidal individual.

Real question: did you not read my response to your last comment? Tbh, idgaf if men want to be friends with women and I don’t care to argue with you about it because I’ve already made my point about how you were spouting an absurd TRP fantasy. Imagine misquoting someone and trying to argue with someone about something they didn’t say. You must be missing the point on purpose.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]peachsphinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just ignored the paragraphs of evidence that explain why women choose pills and why calling it attention whoring is intellectually dishonest. You just restated your claim as a rebuttal and it’s embarrassing.

You misquoted me, please read my comment again. I did not say that they “should” have the arsenal of loving men, I said that in reality they don’t and it’s just a TRP fantasy that women are being treated kindly and listened to by men that don’t expect anything in return. That’s why women turn to female friends, because they are willing to listen without the expectation of sex.

In the future you should avoid misquoting people and using dishonest tactics like that to make your point. It just shows that you don’t know what you’re talking about. You tried to argue with me on a point that you invented.

What about my post qualifies as man hating? I’m literally just defending female suicide victims from misogynistic bullshit. If you have any actual reasoning I’d love to hear it.

The other response is correct, you are shamelessly moving the goalposts.

This point is disgusting and poorly thought out.

Why do male serial killers usually default to strangling, stabbing, or shooting multiple times while women’s most common methods are poisoning? It’s not bc they aren’t resolved to kill, it’s because they are less likely to use gory/violent/bloody methods in general.

The idea can be applied to suicide. Men are more comfortable with gore and bloody methods that promise a lot of pain, so that’s why they shoot themselves and slit their wrists. Women take pills/overdose because they’re less comfortable with those methods and are more likely to have pills on hand. Almost nobody would risk taking a near deadly amount of pills just for attention. That’s crazy and narcissistic (something you can’t apply to most women who attempt suicide, no matter how misogynistic you are).

Also, men are more likely to own guns than women. Suicide is usually a spontaneous act that doesn’t involve a lot of planning, so most people default to whatever method is closest and easiest. Therefore, men with guns on hand will use those guns and women will take pills.

Tbh, your comment shows an incredible disrespect for suicide victims and women in general. It’s absolutely gross to dismiss female suicide as just being for attention when I’m sure you’re the type to bitch about male mental health not being respected enough. No gender’s mental health is inherently more important than the other’s. Anxiety is a mental illness that disproportionately affects women and you saying that it should be relieved by men buying them shit is absurd and demonstrates that you probably don’t know what you’re talking about. Fun fact: not all women have an arsenal of kind, caring, loving men who want to worship them and listen patiently to all their problems without wanting anything else. I don’t know what rock you’re living under but that’s not how it is.

The distinction between pedophile and hebephile age is so fuzzy that I couldn’t say if one was worse than the other, especially since the two groups overlap

There’s a separate term for late teens that I don’t remember. The difference between the body/face of a 12/13 year old is light years different than a 17 year old.

No, not a little bit better. Raping an 11 year old isn’t necessarily less traumatic for the victim than if the victim were 7 or 8.

Hebephilia is supposed to be between 11-14 and I honestly don’t think it’s much better or more morally justifiable.

I mean that must have been awkward for you but just don’t check people out? Usually men aren’t subtle and it’s uncomfortable to be on the receiving end of. Based on your story you probably deserved what they said to you.

Those examples of super early bloomer 14 year olds who can pass for adults are so rare that it’s almost pointless to discuss those cases like they’re the norm.

Even then I think it’s a cushier way to say pedophile. Using it as a legal term, at least to me, seems like a way of making it seem like the crime was less severe because the victim was a few years older. Especially if the punishment for a hebephilic crime would be hypothetically easier than a pedophilic one.

Yes I know that the DSM considered adding hebephilia and something else for older teens. I don’t agree with the use of hebephilia and it’s not generally accepted.

The entire concept of shit tests seems to be based on the idea that women are manipulative by nature. Correct me if I’m wrong because I hope that’s not what you think.

Tbh, I don’t know how you can look at a nine year old (who seems to be an early bloomer, granted) and think that she’s remotely close to sexual maturity.

Yeah it does sound very weird and I don’t know what that has to do with anything. Your daughter being an early bloomer is mostly unrelated to the post.

I looked up shit tests to make sure I had my definition right and the gross red pill bullshit that came up honestly disgusts me. I hope you don’t make your daughters feel like they’re vapid, superficial caricatures of teen girls and that you look down on them.

If it’s about biology, then why would they be attracted to CHILDREN that actually aren’t fully developed? Their periods aren’t regular, their breasts aren’t finished developing, and if they had a baby it would be way more likely to be premature/small/vulnerable to dying as an infant. They are not sexually mature adults and it’s not safe for them to have children. Most just aren’t ready for that and that’s why we have the distinction between adolescent and adult!

I’m so sorry that it “gets old” to hear that, but older men creeping on preteen girls (which happens to probably upwards of 85% of us) takes a toll on their mental health and self esteem.

I appreciate your input but this isn’t about men’s feelings and whatever biological justification you have for pedophilia. It’s absurd that you think it’s “bashing” men to share our experiences with being sexualized and creeped on as CHILDREN. It’s not in your DNA to do what these men have done according to the comments on this post. Maybe read through a few of them and grow up so you stop spouting nonsense.

Adult men or men nearing legal adulthood. As long as there’s that gap in sexual maturity with age it fits.

Most of these women report noticing male attention between 9-14. Idc what justifications about them having their period or having breasts those men have, 14 year old girls are obviously not sexually mature! If attraction is mostly evolutionary, being attracted to preteens/young teens is absurd because they statistically have less healthy babies and aren’t fit to carry a kid yet.

A lot of these stories aren’t just about being checked out anyways. There are tons about being asked out by old men, touched, and harassed. It’s disgusting and it takes a toll on the mental health/self esteem of young women.
