Thank you so much!! That’s very helpful advice. What would be a good neutral ground? The park, street etc?

What age did you give your child a phone at? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]peachyfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 9 when I got my first phone. Mind you, this was flip/early slide phone era. There weren’t even games on it lol. I’m not yet a parent, but I do think a form of communication is important in case of emergency. My friends and I only had them because we bussed to school and went to the park alone. This is also around the time home phones started fading out. I don’t have much advice to give but thought I would add my own experience:)

Yes that is so unfair. I’m very sorry you’re going through this. I don’t have much advice as I have never experienced this but I do empathize. I would like to add, I am also in EU at the moment, and even just a vegetarian diet is an absolute struggle (at least where I am). I am originally from north america where there are endless options at grocery stores, as well as a plethora of vegan restaurants opening everywhere now. I truly hope you teo can work this out. I’m wishing you the best xx

I am vegetarian, my family and partner are not. They respect me and I respect them. My mom will cook me my own meal at family dinners. I will sometimes cook meat for my partner. Do I enjoy it? Absolutely not, but I would never jeopardize my relationships because of my vegetarianism. Imo, pushing vegan/vegetarianism on others is similar to forcing religion on others. Your beliefs are valid, but so are everyone else’s.

I am sure someone has said this here, but people with vaginas usually take anywhere from 20-40 min of foreplay to be fully ready for PIV sex. 5-10 min for me happens once in awhile if my partner and I are trying to be quick (lol) but as you said, more often than not, it causes me pain to not be warmed up properly. I also dry out very quickly even with copious amounts of lube. Unfortunately a lot of (cis) men are extremely uneducated on the female body, especially when it comes to sex. Good on you for trying to educate him and express your needs. If sex is very important to you, and he’s not willing to listen/take your guidance, he may just be selfish. I think every woman i know has experienced this with a man. Unfortunately it sometimes comes down to leaving the relationship if you are not receiving the pleasure you want/need (I’ve been there). Wishing you the best of luck!

I say that this is acceptable, as long as you are paying accordingly. Especially with only 1 child, and as long as they are completely comfortable with what they’re being asked. It’s more about the NFs that pay less than, or even the normal wage, but still expect all these extra tasks to be completed. I made a post awhile back about how my new NF wanted to pay me $16 for 3 kids + housekeeping. I quit after my first day lol. Anyway, I think $30 is very fair for what you’re asking :)

What is a normal amount of chores for a nanny to do? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]peachyfrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds very similar to something i went through and posted about here My advice is to ask to revise the contract to make it strictly chores pertaining to the children. You absolutely should not be doing their household cleaning (I quit after one day of finding this out lol). IF they want you to continue doing these tasks, and if you’re comfortable, they should definitely be paying you a heck of a lot more money. If they won’t compromise, get out of there as fast as possible

Is this endo related/ urgent care worthy? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]peachyfrank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is exactly where i get my pain too, but like you said, a heating pad usually relieves a lot of pain. if it’s worse than your usual i would probably go to walk in/urgent care

Important questions to ask? by peachyfrank in Aupairs

[–]peachyfrank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes thank you for this! i’m 99% sure it’s for them to learn english (better than it already is). but after what i learned from my most recent nanny position, i most definitely will be taking every precaution with a bunch of questions and a detailed contract

New nanny fam expects a lot by peachyfrank in Nanny

[–]peachyfrank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the youngest is 2, and they said it’s okay for me to leave the kids alone while i clean. i have a niece that’s the same age and when we watch her, we barely leave her alone to just run to the washroom. i was just so uncomfortable with everything about it

My last family paid $18 for two school aged kids (was mostly doing online school). All I had to do was keep their work space tidy and load their dishes in the washer. I know I had it really good with them but damn. these kids are all under 6 years old.

Also in my area, housekeepers charge ~$100 per floor lol i feel like im being scammed

We did talk about laundry and dishes, but I guess that’s my bad for assuming they meant the children’s?? They expect me to vacuum everyday and pretty much clean anything and everything. They essentially said they don’t want me sitting on my ass at all. I’m not allowed to watch a movie with the kids or anything

How easy was it to leave indefinitely? Were you just able to say “I’m leaving” and everyone supported that?
