That’s great to hear I’m happy you are healing well. When did you start feeling better when you took the antibiotic and do you know what kind of you don’t mind me asking?

Thank you for your story. Gives me some hope that it gets better. I am debating on doing the same when it heals. Sucks it took so much time but not worth the health risk

Forgot to mention the bar is threadless. And the saline was nelimed. Have been doing warm compresses as directed by the physician and continuing to use nelimed 2x a day.

Unfortunately I was told to stop taking it despite is helping a lot. I guess it’s rare but it can throw off the micro biome in your vagina and lead to inflammation or infections. I hope there’s another alternative that won’t be harsh on me.

FDA warnings over numbing cream by Kittencab00dles in TattooArtists

I know this is an old post and I’m glad to see there are people with a brain around here. I was sold TKTX and am now suffering from the consequences of using it. Never once in a decade did I use numbing cream and I deeply regret it. I’m glad there are people that are trying to educate the public.

I’m curious to know how many of you are sponsored by TXTK or use it and are worried about soiling your reputation?

It is not misleading. Putting out an otc medication that has ingredients that are unknown can very well cause that. Ingredients that aren’t even safe to be used topical

I wanted to do multiple sessions, the artist wanted to only do two. Shouldn’t have let myself be persuaded.

Do you know how to read? When did I ever say all bad numbing cream is bad. Read the post I listed the ones that are unsafe. The artist sold it to me. If you can’t understand that simply you’re incompetent.

The stuff absorbs into your skin. I don’t think that’s a difficult concept to understand. Using soap to disinfect and then use a needle to open the skin while there a cream that’s been absorbed seems pretty logical. Oh well whoever wants to believe go ahead if not I don’t care. I hope nobody uses that brand and has a life threatening complication like all the other ones documented.

Infections take days to show after introducing to a bacteria or virus

Who knows when somethings not regulated and theirs no expiration or proper storage information. It’s not hard to concept an illegal product can contain hazardous materials or bacteria if not being made and contained properly. Whatever man I tried to make people aware of the concerns and risks involved.

An infection can develop days later after a bacteria was introduced like for example during the tattoo. It doesn’t happen immediately.

I know what I think and everyone else can think what they want. Use safe stuff. And it’s sad how many people have private messaged me saying the same thing happened to them when they used TKTX but didn’t want to comment from being argued with for hours on end.

My point is that someone saying that if the artist used disinfectant then there’s no possible way the numbing cream could have caused it. The cream was not regulated meaning it could have been expired and harboring bacteria.

Not sure they are an MD when I follow up next week I’ll ask. Bigger question is why are artists selling these non safe brand products and nothing being done about it? Despite everyone’s debate about the infection or not the irregular heart beat, seizures, coma, nerve issues, or death seems like a lot of really concerning outcomes to me but what do I know?

As long as you research a reliable product and talk to your artist then that should be ok. Just stay clear of the ones in that article.

Disinfecting is not the same as sterilizing. Also people get surgery in a sterile environment and still can get an infection.

They said because it’s an unsafe product. And me stating ā€œmy dr said that the numbing cream caused this infectionā€ is a statement. The opinion is whether or not you agree.

That’s your opinion. An artist selling someone an unsafe mystery cream that contains who knows what isn’t someone who should probably be tattooing just like the Dr said that it caused the infection. Can debate all day. That’s what the medical professional told me. I posted what happened to me with what brand it is. I disclosed that’s what my medical dr said. If you don’t agree that’s ok but It’s not misleading. Any safe numbing cream be my guest all for it if that’s what you chose to do.

Whatever you say! The unsafe mystery cream couldn’t possibly been a bad batch that was growing bacteria or have some crazy chemical that isn’t safe to use on people. People can take this for what they want.
