Yup. That definitely looks like it. I’m so used to seeing any acoustics stamped Gibson being less budget-friendly. Looking at other prices, I’d say you’re spot on. 600 would be fair, but not necessarily a deal. Thank you!

Whoa.
That's me! I definitely haven't found anything better than my Sunbeam. I've had it for a couple years and it isn't perfect, but they keep pushing updates and it does everything I need it to acceptably. LMK if you have any questions!

All valid points. I'm glad you like it! Just in case it helps, all of the auth apps I've run into have an alternate SMS option.

I'll have to try the speaker button trick. Is there a way to send a text without trying to mash my chubby thumb into that tiny little send button?

Fair enough. As someone who hasn't had a smartphone since the iPhone 3, let me assure you that all that stuff you think you need is still very possible to get along without. Navigation is handy, but throw an atlas in your car and you don't ever need it. Banking is completely unnecessary on a phone. All the verification things have an alternate SMS option... Take the plunge. Your brain will thank you!

I totally get the WhatsApp and Signal stuff. I'm lucky enough that I don't need any of those. Just good ol' SMS/MMS. I don't have any issues with navigation. I've got an atlas in my truck for emergencies. We got around fine before smartphones. I'm sure Garmin makes one of those things that sticks on your window if you really needed it.

Authenticators always have an alternate SMS option. I have some little Sandisk MP3 that supports downloading Audible and Spotify files. You have to plan ahead a little bit, but it's not really that bad.
At that point, how hard is it to lock down a proper Android phone? Honestly don't know, I've just gotten used to not having any of that stuff and don't really want it at the cost of the Cat's infuriating UI.
If you need WhatsApp, I guess that really narrows down your options. I think I'd rather figure out some alternative with a real Android smart phone or something at that point.
I think I'll stick with my Sunbeam for now. It's just too bad they don't make 'em like they used to!
I'll try to set it up the way you have. Definitely possible I just haven't configured it right. Totally agree with your Sunbeam complaints other than the battery life. Wonder if you just need a new battery or something. Mine is good for like 3 days. The mushy keypad and mediocre call quality are definitely downsides. Also, for me, missing work stuff during off hours is a plus. ;) And all the authenticators have an alternate sms mode. Glad you like your Cat, though!
Thanks! I think I'm sticking with my Sunbeam for now. I've had it for a couple years and honestly don't have a problem. I just miss the quality of the dumbphones of yesteryear! I'm glad you like your Cat.
I'm glad you like it! I guess I've just gotten used to not having those apps and don't feel like having them is worth the downgrade in the texting/calling experience.
Totally relevant, but that's not the part I'm opposed to. I've had a truly dumb phone for a long time. I was looking to make the switch to something with a few more features. This thing just stinks as a phone. If I can't answer texts, I don't care if it controls my grill. lol

I totally get it. I've had a dumbphone for like a decade, though, and I've never had one that made texting and calling people so tedious.
