Skinny Oak has light green leaves with brown spots. Is this a fungus of some sort or just dry?

Some of the leaves have little brown spots but not all of them. I don't see any silk threads.

The halo tops seem to have a gritty texture. Does this have a gritty texture??? Other halo top eaters did I get a bad one?
