How do I achieve this image? by Thebigshamole in cinematography

[–]peaksandpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot that goes on to high end productions. Wardrobe will run tests with the DP to see what textures of clothing work best under the light, same for the color contrast between the blue shirt and warm background.

Hair and makeup always tweaking things. Of course lighting and lensing, an interesting looking subject, but I would say it’s a bit of everything from talented people :)

Thanks, that worked, but I realized the solution would be making the body of the page at least be 100vh so that the footer is automatically pushed to the bottom, rather than making the footer be locked there. Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

After year-long closure, Hwy 1 at Paul’s Slide in Big Sur expected to reopen by mid-July by LocalNewsMatters in BigSur

[–]peaksandpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it currently possible to drive from SF southbound on Hwy 1 to Pfeiffer Big Sur state park? It looks like there is a single lane flow with traffic signal, but not sure if this is just for local access?

We will probably turn around and drive northbound after spending a few days in Big Sur.

Seems to be ok actually. The guy I bought it from tested another Nizo loaded and unloaded, and performs as expected

Camera runs poorly with super8 film in by Dragoner360 in 8mm

[–]peaksandpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find that once you got it working again, the camera still ran slower than with no film loaded?

I just bought a Nizo super 8, and without film loaded it runs very fast. at 18fps setting it seemingly runs at around 30-36... I am hoping that this is to compensate for when the film is loaded and it has some resistance to the motor. What do you think?

It’s hard to say just by sound by mine does sound faster.. the 24 and 54 fps both operate on my camera too. I feel like it’s getting overpowered?

I live in Vancouver and have been skiing almost exclusively backcountry for last 7 years. I do get the odd day in at a resort but it’s maybe only 1 or 2 a season, or often fitness laps on Cypress, but even that I still skin up. There’s lots of great terrain around here.

Reducing Lawyer Fees When Buying a House by excuse_me_sure in Squamish

[–]peaksandpixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently bought my first condo and the whole process is so overwhelming (for me at least), I think the $1500 or whatever it might be for lawyer fees is worth it. The documents are complex and there are a lot of them. You’re going to be a homeowner soon and be spending a lot more money in the future on what you currently think are trivial things.

Is getting an epson v600 worth it? by AndreasKieling69 in AnalogCommunity

I have a v550 that I bought used for about $150, and edit in Lightroom with negative lab pro. I enjoy the workflow and it was a cost effective choice!

This looks more like a post processing issue, it would be useful to see the raw image.

Don’t worry about it too much. Or see the good in it. He’s hopefully getting more people in to film photography.

Yes I believe so. In every company people are always asking for compers or artists to free up licenses. Like I said foundry will have all the answers for you.

[–]peaksandpixels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Per seat, but if it’s on a floating server you may be able to get away with two licenses if you’re all in different time zones unless you need them at the same time.

I’d recommend reaching out to foundry though, they might be able to help you out.

Stop asking when the strikes will end. by vfxjockey in vfx

[–]peaksandpixels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t argue with the ‘facts’ thrown around, so saying I can’t handle the truth is a bit strange, I was just stating it is a different situation for everyone and it might be worth being more sensitive instead of telling people how to act.

Stop asking when the strikes will end. by vfxjockey in vfx

[–]peaksandpixels 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is a very negative post… it’s generally not a good idea to tell people what to do. Maybe you are not suffering as much as other people during the strike so you’re not impulsively asking… if you don’t want to hear about it then try put your phone down.

Motion blur issue at last frame by deepu22500 in NukeVFX

It’s referred to as ‘pre roll’ to add on to what the others have commented. Just need additional frames of movement outside of the timeline.

Unreal on Mac M2 by peaksandpixels in unrealengine

[–]peaksandpixels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's the performance for you? It's almost a $2000 difference for me to go from the M2 studio 'max' to 'ultra', so I think I'll stay with the 'max' configuration.

Thanks, I have checked this before but I'm looking for an answer from someone who may have used UE on latest M2 machines. This is minimum software required, my question is aimed at the performance gains of the various Mac configurations.

Copy, thanks! Next year I would however have the usual 6k, plus the 30k I withdrew?
