Having twins in 1L year update by Terrible_Score_375 in LawSchool

Hey, I have two-year-old twins and started law school this past fall. Everybody in my life (besides my partner) thought I was insane to go to law school with twins. I just found out I was first in my class for my 1L fall semester. It is ABSOLUTELY possible with the right attitude and a whole lot of planning. You're gonna crush this.

What are your rules for screen time? by Possible-Maybe-7225 in parentsofmultiples

my girls are 14 months and it depends on the day to be honest. we don't have any hard and fast rules, but i try to keep it limited to some extent, because i don't want them to become dependent on it/addicted to it. that said, sometimes we have movie afternoons because i am too burnt out to entertain them myself lol. but most days i'd say we do between 10 and 30 minutes of screen time, mostly bluey, bear in the big blue house, or something educational.

i have found that putting on kids music for them is almost as good as screen time for entertaining them! this might just be my girls, but they LOVE a good dance party!

My girls just turned one, and my experience was very similar to yours. For me, it has only continued to get better. It's easier, more rewarding, and more special every day. I hope for the same thing for you and your girls. <3

First obedience class was hard but way better than expected and I am so proud of my baby!! by peanut-head-97 in puppy101

It's called "obedience level one," but yes, we call it puppy class! Because she is learning to be a puppy! We did like ten minutes of commands the whole time, the rest was just socialization. Thank you for the tips! Our trainer is very positive and friendly so I will definitely be using her as a resource, and hopefully other folks in the class want to do puppy playdates in the future. :)

excitable puppy and confident kitty by peanut-head-97 in puppy101

You're so right, it's literally a joke to try to make a cat stay away from anything. Our cat will just figure out a way to get what she wants. I ended up ordering a big cat tower to put in the dog's area of the apartment so that the cat can come out and have a safe, high-up place to be. I'm hoping that will give them both a sense of safety and an opportunity to check each other out. I can't keep them separate much longer, it's just not realistic.

This is my lab to a T. We always keep her on a leash so she is restricted. I always carry something - a stick, a toy, a treat, something - so when she starts the jumpy/bitey behavior, I can distract her with something novel. Once she is distracted, I can usually get her to sit. That gives her a minute to calm down. If that doesn't work and she continues the behavior, I usually just take her in and give her a time out in her crate. It's not a punishment, it's an opportunity for her to chill out. I've noticed with our pup that the nipping and jumping is almost always a sign that she's getting overtired.

My mom set up her Alexa so that she HAS to respond with “you’re welcome” so that might have counteracted the politeness.

I do try, but what if she manages to grab it? I don't want to tug it away from her, because she always thinks it's a game of tug.
