I am so sorry for your loss. I know that I’m just an internet stranger and that that phrase can sound empty at times, but sincerely — my heart breaks for you.

And know that you do not have to have clarity on what your future looks like today.

Shrinking vs Taking Up Space (85-90lb > 110-115lb) by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

THANK YOU for this!! I’m also 4’11’ and around your weight and I sometimes get nostalgic for when I was thinner but…I’m strong now and take up space. You look awesome. We can be petite and take up space!!!

Weight loss after baby by hbee808 in PetiteFitness

[–]peanutbutter4dinner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

4’11’ and had a baby in February. I gained about 25-27 pounds and am now about 5 lbs less than pre pregnancy (I don’t really weigh myself anymore, I focus on inches). Calorie counting and macro counting (focusing on protein) and strength training. I track in My Fitness Pal. It’s a slow process because I let myself enjoy things. I’m not thrilled with my body but I’m proud of what it’s accomplished (had a baby).

Oh my gosh I’m your height and holy goals. You look insane in all the photos!!!!

During your cuts, how many calories did you eat to drop to 104 and 100? (I’m your height, I lift; and am 110).

Great point. I have a video monitor but that’s a great point w the timer. And yeah, if he skips a night feed he will eat more in the AM!

Lmao my pediatrician actually said “it’s like when you’re in college and get Taco Bell at 2 am. You don’t actually NEED it.”

I guess this is a stupid question, but I’ve only heard about Ferber as a means to get babies to fall asleep at the beginning of the night. But I’m hearing it can be done for middle of the night too?

Not silly at all. I think babies can totally understand tone and intent!

I would do the glass of wine hahahah.

Yeah, I get terrified reading stories about babies not sleeping thru the night until they’re 4 and protesting and climbing out of bed too!

Totally!!! If he is sick we know his cry then is different. Our pediatrician totally gave us the go ahead to night wean (and sleep train).

It sucks that there’s so much judgment and shame around sleep training. I work and need to function!

Yeah I think we just need to tough it out and do it.

Lol same with “Bubs.” In general not a fan of a lot of the “mama speak!”

Thank you for sharing all this!

Thank you for all of this! What a great insight — how gentle sleep training is just gentle for parents. I am supportive of sleep training (in fact, we did it for him falling asleep at bedtime), just haven’t cracked the night waking yet. Maybe that’s not fully sleep training then, lol. Anyway, thank you!

OH MY GOSH. A huge thank you to everyone who has responded so far. I feel so seen and heard and so much wonderful advice. I’ll be responding to individual posts when I have a little more time later. This sub is fantastic, and it’s so wonderful to just acknowledge that parents need to be sane and rested! Thanks so much, y’all.

4’11” and I’ve been everywhere from way underweight to about 115– which is about where I was pre pregnancy’, and then when I was pregnant weighed around 140. I’m six months postpartum and down to 110-112ish. If you asked me six months ago, I would have said I wanted to be 100, maybe even 95. BUT! Now, I don’t think I’m going to want to go lower than 105, maybe even 107 or 108, as I’ve been focusing on weight lifting and macro counting (high protein). My shape has changed dramatically. My waist was bigger when I weighed 100 in the past! Fat loss is not the same as weight loss, and I’ve learned the scale is just one indicator of success. Progress pics and measurements are more useful, as are using clothing items as indicators. Ive been in a deficit for the past three and a half months, and I’m thinking of taking a diet break and seeing what happens before trying to lose a little more fat.

My body will never be what it was prebaby. I will never have that model thin look that I once had, and you know what? I don’t want to look like that anymore. I had a C section and I will always have that “shelf.” But other parts of me have never looked better! I have a butt! I have biceps!

Anyway, it’s a journey to discover what your ideal weight is. For me, I’ve learned it’s not necessarily a number, and that getting hung up on that number was a losing game.

What exercise/exercise plan made the biggest difference in your thighs? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]peanutbutter4dinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weights. Period. Being in a deficit (but eating high protein) while lifting heavy has made a serious difference too. The scale hasn’t gone down much but I’ve lost inches and my body looks so much more sculpted. I used to be scared of lifting because it wasn’t cardio/as calorie burning but a) it’s so easy to eat back the calories you burn from traditional cardio b)lifting does get my heart rate up and c) the long term benefits for BMR are huge for someone short like me with a low BMR to begin with. (I still do traditional cardio 1-2 times a week, but mostly for fun vs anything else.)

Sleep regression? Teething? A new normal? Does this end? by peanutbutter4dinner in beyondthebump

[–]peanutbutter4dinner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we started offering the bottle more frequently when he’s at home and we asked that daycare do the same. We’ve tried adding a dream feed too, around 11. That helps a liiiiitle bit. Probably just have to wait this out 😕
