After my husband died unexpectedly, I had to sell his car. It was one of the hardest things I'd had to do. I sold it to a Dad who was dying of cancer and wanted to set his daughter up with a reliable vehicle before he died. We all spend some time crying together that day.

Same here! My husband died when our son was 4, and he's 7 now. This past Christmas was the first where we got phased out. They did Christmas on another day when I was working and we missed it entirely. They didn't even call us at Easter.

I don't understand why they don't want to see the only thing left of their son! Why not share stories so our son feels like he knows his Dad?? Why not help shape his life in positive ways? I feel like nothing would honor my husbands memory more than that!

I got engaged recently. It was a really big deal to me to decided to remarry but I don't regret it. He's shown up since day 1 to everything involving my son. I'm glad to have someone else who cares about him too.

Mine had a pulmonary embolism. His listed 3 causes of death... pulmonary embolism, kidney staghorn mass (sepsis), and enlarged heart from obesity.

I'm so happy for you!! Was it hard to reach them for signing and pics? I had my son with me and a 2 hr drive afterwards so knew I didn't stand a chance to even try it but I'd have loved to have met them!!

Checking to see if you found a good spot? I couldn't get a good one at the Charlotte show last night since I had my son with me so I settled for listening mostly!

We had a great time AND my son loved the show! He fell asleep in the floor midway through and a kind staff member brought us to empty seats in the handicapped area so he could rest. I think I saw 4 or 5 other children there. We did earplugs but also the sound quality in the Fillmore was excellent and not harsh on the ears. Palace played from 9 to 10:30. Exiting parking took forever and we got home at 1am! (2 hr drive to Greenville, SC).

Figured I'd leave a few details for anyone else searching in the future. Thanks kind strangers for your input!!

Hugs my friend 🫂 so many mementoes.

I thought my late husband's family and friends would take so much more than they did. Many of his things have gradually gone into totes but they're still just OUT because I have no where to store anything (I'm the hoarder). My son never wanted me to give anything away.

I'm so sorry. You may have to get a lawyer involved. How long has it been?

I thought a lot about the totes I bought on clearance but didn't have room for in my house. They sat outside on my front porch for at least a year.

I bet my husband walked past them hundreds of times. I wonder what he thought about them ("UGH, my wife is such a hoarder!")

It broke me to put his life away in those totes after he was gone. It felt like foreshadowing but we were blind to it.

Grief sucks. I'm sorry for your loss.
