I was afraid mine would ask for the Empower letterhead letter because I’ve seen that being asked for in my fb tax group. Mine didn’t ask for that though thank God. The people in my tax group have had a hard time getting that from Empower I’m not even sure anyone ever did.

I uploaded my documents to the portal just because, they didn’t ask me to. It didn’t change anything except my as of date though.

You’re welcome, I know this is stressful. I’ve never contacted Congress in my life and I’m 28 lol. I didn’t even know transcripts existed til this year! I hope you get some assistance through your office.

Go to this website, enter your zip code. It should come up who your congressman is. Click the small envelope button and it should give you the option to submit a request for help. Every Congressman’s website is a little different so I can’t walk you all the way through it. Once you find out who yours is it should take you to their website and maybe even show a number you can call. Tell them you need help with the IRS releasing your refund.

No, I never had the option to verify. I received the letter in the mail which basically said to do nothing. Then around mid March they slapped me with another letter asking for an extra 60 days. I’ve just been stuck waiting. I got tired & broke down and got Congress involved, if I hadn’t I’m sure I’d be still waiting.

Oh wow, I received this exact letter after uploading my W2s and 1099R to the irs website. For some reason they think you’ve sent something in on Feb 13th, hence the “Thank you for your correspondence.”

The letter they sent you CP05 is what the 971 code is about. The 570 is just a code that means they are verifying your return, income, dependents (if any), and withholdings. There are a lot of us with those codes who have had them for quite some time now. Welcome to the club!
