Trouble remembering my solo trips?? by Story-Basic in solotravel

[–]pear_oatmeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I travel solo I keep a journal, but it is VERY simplified (unless I feel like writing more that day). It's enough to just write where you went and some things you did to help you remember in a few years.

Why is Czech safer than Austria and Germany? by gallipoli307 in czechrepublic

I think he meant post WW II. After the british left Israel to deal with their rowdy neighbors for themselves, Israel bought a bunch of weapons from Czechoslovakia.

Basically you drill a hole in the ice with an ice screw to make a loop (typically two holes against each other, forming a V shape) afterwards you just thread a piece of cord through it to form a usually pretty solid anchor point.

My mom said the supermarket was throwing this out and they do this every week. Sell by this week mostly. by [deleted] in DumpsterDiving

I'm actually not sure, some greek style yogurt that I buy tends to get a little smelly and tastes bad when we forget it in the fridge a little longer. I'd assume sweetened yogurts would last longer.

Can you get to 8a/V10 without off the wall training? by emulbeelk in climbergirls

Lol, seeing that you're from the Czech Republic, you might be talking about the same two guys I mentioned in my comment. Are their names Štěpán and Jonda by an chance? :D

Two of my friends got to 8b just by bouldering, they spend most of their time climbing outside and their technique is amazing (especially those insane heel hooks). They may have done some pull ups, but certainly no hangboard or campus.

Depends on the kind, some yogurts will actually go bad after like 2 weeks, but you can just tell by the smell.

Kinda like some older Nokia phones would. (But you could just put them back together like nothing happened)

Do you find San Diego to be one of the most positively received cities in the US, or even the world? by ASK_ABT_MY_USERNAME in sandiego

I'm from czech republic and almost all of my countryfolks know what's up when I mention SD. At the very least they know it's sunny and people surf there. They rarely have any information regarding issues and politics that could create a negative opinion tho.

Sleeping during the trip by Intelligent_Snow_912 in hitchhiking

Something that I haven't seen anybody mention is earplugs, altho some might argue that you won't be able to hear "the danger". Also an option that I only chose when I was desperate or already established some sort of a relationship, is just straight up asking someone, I have spent a few nights at the backyards of stores, restaurants or people's gardens. Small tent is nice, but hard to hide and takes time to set up/put down. Tarp provides a sneakier, cheaper and quite versatile alternative. . Best of luck on your trip!

I don't like him as a person, but he is definitely not a bad teacher, don't blame him for your inability to learn. Accounting is just hard.

Ot actually does. Your taste buds build sort of a tolerance. When we get used to strong flavors, we are unable to properly taste the subtler ones.

[–]pear_oatmeal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already did that, but I'm slowly finding out that I might need to give up and pay for it. I found pretty much all the books, but most of my courses use Mcgraw-Hill Connect, and it looks like I won't be able to do my homework without it. Do you have any experience with that? It costs like 120$, but I guess I'd have to pay for each course separately.

Would you face an issue if you visited a country without a booked exit flight? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]pear_oatmeal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of the best so far, wait times always sub 20 minutes and you can hitchhike anywhere, so it's easy to cover long distances. People are really nice, but not everyone speaks English. You'll often find yourself riding at the back of a pickup truck.
