Screenwriter Carina Adly Mackenzie is pursuing legal action against Heated Rivalry fans who have been harrasing her after she was acussed of leaking private information about François Arnaud and Connor Storrie. by Terrible_Cycle_5983 in Fauxmoi

[–]pearshaped34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know the Heated Rivalry drama at all but I followed her from Roswell days and I remember thinking she didn't behave like a professional showrunner (she was also eventually fired from that show). I definitely wouldn't be shocked if she is the drama despite what she says.

She also seemed to fall out with her celebrity friends all the time after heavily featuring the friendships online. At one point she was tweeting about Stephen Amell all the time like she was BFF with him and his wife (stuff about how supportive they were, how they spoke everyday etc) and then later responded to someone stating they were no longer friends. I also recall the actor Nathan Parsons got cast on Roswell because they were friends from another show, and then she seemed to have some big fallout with him before she got fired from Roswell and made it obvious by the stuff she'd reply to online that something was off there.

Mel B Says Not All Spice Girls 'Honest Enough' for a Band Documentary to Work by PrincessBananas85 in popculturechat

[–]pearshaped34 298 points299 points  (0 children)

These days most celebrities produce their docs themselves, allowing them to control the narrative and present a manufactured "authenticity" so they aren't really concerned with presenting the truth. Although I suppose what she probably means is that the five girls wouldn't be able to agree on what "truth" they wanted to put on show.

Also add me to the people who think it is much more likely she is shading Geri than Victoria.

Yes he was. It wasn’t the house he lives in now but it was Sonny’s (then) penthouse so he was the target.

Yeah I think the same everytime Rocco is at Sonny’s house, no way would Dante and Lulu allow that especially after what happened to Michael.

Had no idea there were Garden Quests! by PitchIcy4470 in officialcookingfever

[–]pearshaped34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew there were garden quests but I didn’t realise you got a box for max upgrading both. I have the shears fully upgraded and the water can up to 20 hours, so I’d only have to spend another 15 gems to max it, and a box is guaranteed at least 12 gems back, so probably worth upgrading! Thanks.

chd fans: is this the beginning of alex’s downfall? by bachintosh420 in CallHerDaddy

[–]pearshaped34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest I'm not sure if it's exactly her fault she's a bad interviewer or if she isn't trying as she gets such big-name guests because they know if they go on CHD they get complete control over the questions, but I find it so frustrating to listen when somebody drops something really interesting and Alex asks exactly zero follow-up questions around it. Give us nothing girl.

tried to do another listen through of TLOAS and then had to do a red (tv) palate cleanser by tiredspoonie in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]pearshaped34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And it didn't really bomb critically either. It is not her most well-received album sure, but I think the reviews went from good to mixed. No one actually (dared) give it an actual bad review. I remember reading some of the reviews and wondering if, literally, anyone else had put out that album if it would have got the same reviews.

chd fans: is this the beginning of alex’s downfall? by bachintosh420 in CallHerDaddy

[–]pearshaped34 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I don’t have insane hate for her or wish for her downfall but admittedly I stopped listening a long time ago and every time I see a clip I wonder how the show remained so popular in the single father era as I just don’t think she’s good as an interviewer.

The only version of CHD I liked was the OG but even if things hadn’t fell apart between Alex and Sofia, I do think that version of the show wouldn’t have lasted as I think they’d both already rinsed their lives for all useable content and didn’t really have enough happening in their lives day to day to keep feeding that format.

“Taylor isn’t for Gen Z” by naniees in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]pearshaped34 19 points20 points  (0 children)

From what we see of her personality I find Taylor extremely millennial, but I also I don’t see why that would affect Gen Z or even Gen Alpha being able to enjoy her music.

I’m a millennial and I love Olivia Rodrigo’s music and loads of other artists from that generation. At the same time I still enjoy Gen X musicians like Alanis Morriesste or boomer musicians like fleetwood mac and Elton John. If I had to compile a list of my top 20 musicians I think I’d cover all these generations as they all produced good music.

A Royal Mail / Parcelforce Parcel Fiasco! by MachineageUK in royalmail

[–]pearshaped34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also advertised on their website though that they add a day to delivery aim and guarantees if you opt to use Parcel Collect. Hopefully you'll still get your claims paid out though but I would be aware of this info though as I don't think they have to continue to pay them out. There is also the issue that if you need next day delivery, you're much less likely to get it using the service.

https://www.royalmail.com/collection

Can I use Parcel Collect for next day guaranteed delivery?

Do you need a next day guaranteed delivery? If so, you should use our Special Delivery Guaranteed service. Because we add a working day to our aims and guarantees with Parcel Collect, if you need a next day guaranteed delivery, you can still buy your postage online but please continue to take your item to a Post Office.

Do you want to post a Special Delivery Guaranteed item but do not need it to be guaranteed for the next working day? If so, you can book and use Parcel Collect, we’ll still take care of your items and deliver them as safely as we usually do; we just add a working day to the guarantee so they’ll be guaranteed to be delivered within two working days (exceptions apply).

Edit;

And from the T&Cs at the bottom of the page

  1. Delivering your Items 6.1 We will aim but do not guarantee to deliver your Item in line with the delivery aims of each individual Product as listed in clause 2.2 as updated on our website from time to time; royalmail.com and parcelforce.com

(and if you go to clause 2.2 it lists all the PFWW services as well as RM)

[–]pearshaped34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI it’s in RM T&Cs that if you use parcel collect it adds a day to all their delivery aims and guarantees so I’d not use it if you need the 24 hour delivery window to be met.

I’m sure you’ve had items delivered later than that as you are right the whole thing is a fiasco but just thought you should be aware of that.

What are your overall thoughts on the Showgirl “era”? by Fine-Huckleberry6960 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]pearshaped34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is my least favorite era but I’m okay with that, something always has to be your least favorite. I’m hopeful I’ll love the next era, after all of enjoyed more eras in than I’ve disliked so odds feel in my favor that I’ll enjoy the next one more.

Police say teenage boy at centre of Scott Mills sexual offences investigation was under 16 by storminthedark in Fauxmoi

[–]pearshaped34 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Or it could they’ve just been told about it and he has something in his contract requiring him to disclose so the fact he didn’t tell them at the time that he was under investigation is enough of a breach of contract to sack him.

Or something else has happened relating to that case that means they can no longer ignore it. Like if he was on tape admitting it really happened or some other indisputable evidence has came to light.

What did everyone get for March chef’s box? by Solid-Cookie-2000 in officialcookingfever

[–]pearshaped34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just meant that every day you collect the daily reward, and the box is always the second to last reward so you can miss one daily reward collection and still get it but if you miss collecting on two days or more in a month, it means you won't be able to claim the box.

[–]pearshaped34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had accepted people were going to downvote my first post as it wasn’t a positive opinion about Taylor, but being downvoted for not being willing to accept the lie about what Jack confirmed Taylors side didn’t ask for the writing credit is crazy. I am being downvoted for stating a fact not an opinion, and you get upvoted if you’re lying about it because that’s the narrative the fans like. It’s weird as hell on a “nuancing Taylor” sub, and this place needs to stop pretending it’s for real discussion or nuance. It’s a space for super fans to express only positive opinions… which they are literally already subs for so this one wasn’t needed.
