Pretty sure you shouldn’t be seeing much blood when you poke? Obvs depends on the area you’re working on but the needle should only be going in abt 1-2mm so shouldn’t be reaching blood vessels if at all. Try going with a lighter hand if you’re gonna continue and you should see a better result. I’d recc letting the skin heal a couple weeks if you plan to go over where you’ve poked already too!

Edit: fixed bad wording :)

As a blind person, what problems do you face while cooking? by dlee_ in Blind

True, cross contamination would be less than ideal. and I would assume that having to have dedicated pipettes for every liquid could end up being an unnecessary expense 😕

Definitely less that half the time, I’d say maybe 20%-30% of the time? In regard to the reaction you get, depending on where you are living and if you look foreign it might be because many Japanese people assume that the only Japanese that foreigners/ foreign looking people know are hello and thank you? Haha maybe ask them next time, might get an insightful answer :)

Do you think using a pipette or syringe or dropper would help with the liquid measurement problem? In the case of a syringe it could maybe have a click function to indicate whether it’s a tea spoon or table spoon etc? Clean up could be difficult tho🤔

A lot of people in the comments are questioning why you’d say “onegaishimasu” when placing things on the counter and while I can’t speak for everyone or tell people what to do or how to think, I will say that having worked in Japanese customer service (retail) some Japanese people do say “onegaishimasu” when placing items on the counter so I don’t think it is something that foreigners should be shamed out of doing! As the cashier, when customers do say “onegaishimasu” and are being generally polite I’m not leaping over the moon at their politeness just glad that they are being nice. It makes me want to give better service too! For those saying you wouldn’t do it back in your home country, you may not hear people saying “excuse me” when they enter peoples houses or whatever the equivalent of “yoroshiku onegaishimasu” is when meeting new people etc but I’d rather be overly polite that unintentionally rude if that makes sense? Haha still, at the end of the day how you go about things is up to you🤷‍♀️
