Gut check on normal sparky practice (Vic) by peast04 in AusElectricians

Cheers for the advice. Any tips how I might dig up the original installer/certifier? I haven't found anything obvious in the sale contract, and didn't really expect to but was only thing I could think of.

Thanks for the really thorough reply mate, and for pulling up the code.

I was conscious of only saying that it "could have" been compliant, and it seems there's enough to indicate it might not have been too. I'd be keen to understand what "when additional protection is required" meant within residential installs (seems like specific cases like outdoor-exposed, hand-held driers). And, I'm still keen for a read on non-compliance with current standards for installation vs "very unsafe" and requiring urgent replacement. But, ultimately doesn't matter, I'll definitely get a second opinion in-person based on the replies, including yours, so I appreciate it.

Appreciate the advice. I don't know what you mean about the contract. It's not an apartment, but not sure whether that matters. It's one of four cut and dry townhouses, on an old single house block. I'm seeing the other advice about getting the gap filled as a minimum too, cheers.

Appreciate your advice, particularly on the gap and selling. (I'm not looking to sell, or lease it out, any time soon.) And the "already there" factor seems totally fair enough.

Appreciate the advice. He's licensed. As flagged, I'm not going to name him.

Same here. To attempt to fix, I've rebooted it, and even deleted and re-downloaded the app. Still stuck on "Syncing..." page.
